Twee weken geleden mochten we Marieke Vellinga-Beemsterboer, Tweede Kamerlid voor D66 en verantwoordelijk voor Wadden, Water, Natuur en Dierenwelzijn, verwelkomen bij onze Bubble Barrier in Harlingen. 💙

Als voormalig wethouder van de gemeente Vlieland weet zij als geen ander wat de Waddenzee betekent en wat er op het spel staat als we plastic afval z'n gang laten gaan. We lieten haar zien hoe onze technologie werkt en hoe het project in Harlingen tot stand is gekomen dankzij een actieve groep bewoners. Maar we deelden ook eerlijk waar we tegenaan lopen: de verantwoordelijkheid voor afval in water is in Nederland versnipperd over meerdere overheden en instanties. Dat maakt het complex voor iedereen die probeert te helpen.

Dankjewel, Marieke Vellinga-Beemsterboer, voor het luisteren naar ons verhaal. Dit soort momenten geeft ons een steuntje in de rug om het plasticprobleem niet alleen lokaal maar ook landelijk aan te pakken.

We travelled to Italy! 🇮🇹 Last month Daniëlle Graman and Anne Marieke Eveleens visited Turin for the Future Urban Trends Event by Stratosferica.

Anne Marieke took the stage to present our Bubble Barrier and how it captures plastic pollution in waterways. While also learning from other speakers:

Iskandar Tange from Coding the Curbs

It was a packed day in which we got to hear fresh ideas and engage in conversations with urban innovators and city leaders who are each redefining the urban system in their own way. Thank you for receiving us with such enthusiasm!

Tijdens een recent evenement 'Blauwe Zone Zomergasten' in Kaag en Braassem deelde onze co-founder Francis Zoet een persoonlijk en inspirerend verhaal.

Haar boodschap ging niet alleen over The Great Bubble Barrier en het plasticprobleem, maar eigenlijk ook vooral over eigenaarschap. Over hoe de wereld om ons heen is gevormd, bedacht, ontworpen en uitgevoerd door mensen. Wat betekent dat wij allemaal invloed hebben op wat er morgen gebeurt.

Geïnspireerd door de woorden van Jane Goodall stond ze stil bij een krachtige gedachte: Jij hebt de keuze welk verschil je maakt in de wereld.

De rol van Francis haar moeder in haar ondernemersreis was van grote betekenis. Een blijvende bron van inspiratie en een prachtige, persoonlijke ode. 🕊️
