Hello friends, fam & community,

I know, I know you have not heard from us in a long time and I have been meaning to give an update for a while now. As you might know, we left Fritz in Costa Rica in storage and started our little adventure of managing a guesthouse in Popoyo, Nicaragua about a year ago.

The thing is, we actually never left the place! 🤣 After volunteering at the guesthouse until December last year and going back to Germany to see the family, we are now back at the same spot at least until the end of the year (if everything goes ok in terms of the global situation).

What can I say? We just fell in love with this tiny town and community and are not planning on leaving any time soon.

So you probably want to know what happens to Fritz? Well, unfortunately he is still in storage. We wanted to take him out a couple of months ago, but that was unfortunately just after the crisis hit and the border between Nicaragua and Costa Rica closed. Problem is, that if we don’t take him out until the 28rd of June, Costa Rica can theoretically confiscate the vehicle since we are only allowed to store it for 365 days. So at the moment I am trying to sort this whole situation out with customs - so far no exception in sight. So please, have your fingers crossed for us and Fritz and let’s hope this whole thing will turn out well and we will be able to give him a second life in Nicaragua.

The corona situation in Nicaragua is still pretty quiet, but there is also a lot of talk that things are being hidden. For now, we are grateful for still being able to live at the beach and jump in the ocean every day.

Hi friends 👋

Here is a little update on life: we are coming home!!! Well, for 5 weeks anyway. 😅 We‘ll be in Germany from December 8th until January 14th and look forward to seeing all your lovely faces!! Let’s meet for coffees, drinks, cakes and all that German food I have missed for the last two years 💛

After that, we will pick up Fritz (unfortunately his current home doesn’t look as beautiful as this picture) and cruise through Costa Rica & Panama 🚐💨

Today one year ago, we spent our last night in Baja California. It was an amazing start into our Mexican adventure and definitely still one of the highlights of the trip so far!

I hope we will be back wild camping on Baja‘s stunning empty beaches one day! ✨

Sometimes I have to pinch myself to fully understand that I am exactly where I want to be. On a beautiful beach, with my beautiful dogs (not pictured: my beautiful boyfriend).

We have been living this constant beach life for almost 3 months now. It might be hard to understand, but it was a needed break from traveling and we love every second of it!

Traveling around in our van was so much fun and we loved it as well. But it was also difficult, stressful, always something to organize, maintain & plan. Being in one spot only gives us time to focus on other things: we are actually working a lot these days on our guesthouse & other digital projects and it feels great to be able to do this from a spot that we all have fallen for the second we got here. ❤️ @ Popoyo, Nicaragua

Today exactly one year ago, we adopted Lola.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The last 365 days with this whirlwind of a dog have been all but boring. When we first got in touch with , we told Mariana that we wanted a curious dog, one that is not too quiet and not afraid of everything. We knew we would take her places in the van, she would see so much of the world (6 countries and counting). We wanted her to enjoy this exciting life - well, we couldn’t have imagined how much she would.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Lola is the ultimate adventure dog. She loves running, she loves chasing cats, chicken, humans, dogs, horses (in no particular order). She is wild. Sometimes she is too wild. She doesn’t like to be tamed or told what to do. She has the strongest will and is the most freedom-loving dog I have ever seen.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We had times where we thought she is too much for us. We had times where we thought we might have to give up. But we didn’t and we are so grateful for every day with her. And even the biggest adventure dog need some resting time. When she is tired from all the running around and she cuddles up to us on the sofa, my heart melts every time.

A few days ago, I was walking back at night from the shop and opposite there was a truck parked on the side of the road. At first, I thought it was Fritz (wtf?!?) but then realised it was actually a lot more bad-ass: bigger engine, huge tires.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Even more bad-ass are the two Dutch owners, Naomi and Susan, who stayed here for a couple of days. These awesome women are traveling with 3 lovely rescue dogs and we were so happy we met them! We do enjoy a lot but having so many come by here already, has definitely been one of my highlights! 💛

With .green.native, we had previously only been in touch on instagram, and these moments show me what an awesome community this is, because without it - who knows if they would have come to Popoyo?

Wild camping days in Baja California Sur. ✨

Back then, we didn’t fully appreciate the fact that you could wild camp pretty much everywhere on that peninsula.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Having driven down most of the Pacific Coast until Nicaragua we now do: wild camping will never get easier and better than in Baja California my friends! So if you happen to be around there, make sure to fully appreciate it! ✌️

Hey friends! You already saw a little bit of us in Trent & Allie's last two videos. If you still can't get enough - here is your last chance to see us live on camera. Let's put it like that: we are not going to start our own YouTube channel any time soon! ;) But: it was soo fun to hang out with those guys and the van swap was hilarious!
