OYEWO FELICITATES AKERE ON 65TH BIRTHDAY, SAYS APC CHIEFTAIN EXEMPLIFIES LOYALTY, SERVICE

Former Member of the House of Representatives for Osogbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo, has congratulated Oluomo Sunday Akere on his 65th birthday, describing him as a model of steadfastness in Nigeria’s progressive movement.

In a statement released on Thursday, Oyewo said Akere’s trajectory in public service reflects a life dedicated to ideas, party building, and the welfare of the people.

“Sixty-five years is a testament to grace and to grit. Oluomo has deployed both in the service of Osun and of our great party,” Oyewo stated.

The former federal lawmaker commended Akere’s tenure as Commissioner for Information and Strategy, noting that he brought message discipline, intellectual depth, and grassroots connection to the assignment.

Oyewo further highlighted Akere’s *appointment as Osun State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors* as further proof of his relevance and influence beyond state lines.

“That national responsibility is clear evidence of his credibility, his reach, and his capacity to galvanize support for a vision that puts Nigerians first,” he said.

Describing Akere as “a political teacher and a community man,” Oyewo noted his accessibility and his willingness to nurture the next generation of leaders within the APC.

2027: Tinubu’s 3-Year Performance Record Merits Re-election — Oyewo

Former member of the House of Representatives for Osogbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo, has again endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in 2027, hinging his support on the administration’s performance over the last 3 years.

In a statement released by his media office on Tuesday, Oyewo said the scale of infrastructure development recorded across the country since 2023 would play a decisive role in the 2027 elections.

“The last 3 years have witnessed an unprecedented rollout of infrastructure nationwide,” he said. “In Osun State, the Ilesa-Ibadan highway, alongside the ongoing rehabilitation of the Osogbo-Iwo-Ibadan and Osogbo-Gbongan roads, will prove to be watershed projects ahead of 2027.”

He noted that the road projects were critical to driving commerce and lowering the cost of transporting goods within the state.

“These roads are the economic lifelines of Osun. When completed, they will remove the bottlenecks that traders and commuters currently contend with,” Oyewo explained.

The APC chieftain attributed the gains to policy reforms under President Tinubu, which he said had created more fiscal space for state governments to deliver projects.

He also dismissed opposition criticisms, and called on Nigerians to judge the government by tangible results.

“Let us ignore the noise from opposition quarters insisting that nothing has been achieved.
The evidence on ground tells a different story,” he said.

The former federal lawmaker concluded that continuity should be granted to a government that has delivered.

OYEWO MOBILIZES OSUN RESIDENTS AS APC RESUMES E-MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION

— A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo, has called on residents of the state to take full advantage of the party’s reopened Membership Electronic-Registration Exercise as it commences nationwide on Monday, August 31, 2026.

Oyewo, a former member of the National Assembly, noted in statement issued on Sunday that the exercise presents a timely opportunity for both old and new members to revalidate and expand the party’s base ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

The APC National Secretariat announced in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja, signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, that the electronic registration would run across all wards in the country.

“We invite all Party stakeholders, supporters and members, old and new, to participate in the APC Membership Electronic-Registration Exercise,” Morka stated.

According to the party, existing members are required to validate their membership, while new and intending members can register to join.

The APC noted that to qualify, prospective registrants must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid National Identification Number, NIN.

Speaking on the development, Hon. Oyewo described the digital exercise as a strategic step toward strengthening internal democracy and modernizing party records.

“This is not just about registration. It is about building a stronger, data-driven APC that can win convincingly in 2027,” Oyewo said. “I urge all Osun people who believe in progressive governance to come out, validate their membership, and encourage others to join.”

The party said the digitization of its membership register is aimed at ensuring accuracy and integrity of records, while also facilitating efficient planning and management decisions.

The former lawmaker representing Osogbo Federal Constituency added that with proper mobilization at the grassroots, Osun APC would be well positioned to consolidate its structures and deliver victory for the party from the Presidency to the State Assembly in the next elections.

He charged party leaders, stakeholders, and youth groups across the 30 local government areas and Ife East Area Office to lead the sensitization drive in their wards.

The e-registration portal is expected to go live on Monday, August 31, 2026.

Former lawmaker representing Osogbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo, has joined millions of Osun people to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the state.

In his goodwill message issued on Thursday, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain noted that “we have every reason to celebrate Osun” because the journey so far reflects the courage and determination of our founding fathers.

“The creation of Osun was not an accident. It was the product of vision, sacrifice and unity. That same spirit is what we need today to move our state forward,” he said.

Hon. Oyewo appealed to residents to use the anniversary for sober reflection, prayers and rededication to the progress of the state.

He further urged calm and unity among party faithful as the APC leadership begins a technical review of the August 15th governorship election, assuring that “the party remains committed to the welfare of Osun people.”

“Let us not allow politics to divide us. What unites us as Osun people is far greater than what separates us. Together, we must build a state of prosperity, equity and opportunity for the next generation,” he added.

The immediate past member representing Osogbo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo, has felicitated Nigerian Muslims on the occasion of Eid-al-Maulud, which marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
