Where the river is more than a landscape.
Where every paddle carries a story.

Along the banks of the Niger River, Patigi in Kwara State comes alive with rich Nupe heritage, colourful traditions and a deep connection to the water.

Through the Patigi Regatta, decorated boats, canoe races, music and cultural performances transform the river into a vibrant celebration of identity and community.

Beyond distributing power, we're proud to illuminate communities whose traditions, landscapes and stories continue to enrich Nigeria's cultural heritage.

What unique tradition from your hometown deserves to be discovered? Share with us in the comments.
