For anyone heading to Mexico, here's a useful article about shopping at pharmacies.

Mexican pharmacies are often nothing like what Americans are used to, but not to worry. You can find all the important stuff. Here's how.

Tired of choosing between groceries and healthcare? 🏥📉

The U.S. healthcare system is officially broken, with Americans spending the most and dying the youngest compared to other wealthy nations. Between rising premiums and disappearing lifelines, "unaffordable" has become the standard.

But you don’t have to stay stuck in a failing system. Our latest post explores two immediate ways to slash your medical expenses without sacrificing quality:

Medical Tourism: Why fly across the country when you can fly across the border for $200 dental crowns and high-end hospital care at a fraction of the cost? ✈️🦷

Move Away: Discover how living in places like Mexico, Panama, or Thailand can turn a month’s worth of U.S. insurance premiums into an entire year of high-quality, out-of-pocket care.

Stop waiting for the system to change and start taking your health—and your budget—into your own hands.

Read the my latest post about medical touism here:

The medical system in the USA is an expensive and broken mess. But here are two easy solutions to deal with unaffordable healthcare costs.

Are you from the US and rethinking your summer travel plans to stay in the country? While you can spend a fortune in some American cities, there are hundreds of affordable vacation spots in the US that have plenty to enjoy.

When I cover USA travel on here or at the Perceptive Travel Blog, I tend to focus on the places that don’t get so much press. Because they’re not marquee destinations, the prices tend to be a lot more reasonable in these lesser-known destinations.

If you're a contrarian traveler who keeps the options open, there are plenty of affordable vacation spots in the US with lots to do.

One of the best local bargains in Mexico is tequila, which is generally half the price or less of what you'll pay in the USA. Here are some good $10-$15 ones.

Traveling to the beach is often one of the best ways to save money while traveling long term. You can laze away your days on the sand, spending less to help offset budgets often depleted by city travel.

With summertime just around the corner, it might be time to plan a visit to the beach. Luckily, many of the most beautiful beaches are in cheap countries as well.

Where is your favorite beach? Let us know in the comments!

One reason I’m not a country counter is that travel shouldn’t be a competition, but the other is that I like to return to countries to explore them in more depth. As far as what to see in Colombia, I have really only scratched the surface in my four visits there. I’m sure I’ll be back again soon since there’s plenty more to visit and experience.

If you’re coming from North America, this is one of the best places to consider if you’re looking for a cheap international destination to reach by air. It’s a very competitive market, with four cities that have frequent international flights: Bogota, Cartagena, Medellin, and Armenia (in the Coffee Triangle).

Then once you’ve finished your flight to Colombia, it’s cheap to get around the country by air or bus.

Check out my post about some of the best things to do and see in Colombia, both from my own experience and a few recommendations from other bloggers for places that I want to check out on future trips.

Las Pozas is a bizarre sculpture garden brought to life in the Mexican jungle by Edward James, an eccentric English poet and artist and patron of the Surrealist movement.

It is located in the Huasteca region of southern San Luis Potosi state. If you will be in this part of Mexico, I highly recommend taking the time to visit.
