⁉️How much do you know about Mongolia’s pastoral livestock farming?🔅🐏🐎

☝️Mongolians raise five types of livestock: sheep, goats, cattle, horses, and camels. Each animal has its own role and provides different products and benefits.

☝️Herders move seasonally between winter, spring, summer, and autumn pastures. This nomadic system helps protect pastureland and keeps livestock healthy.

☝️Livestock graze freely on open natural pasture rather than being kept in barns or fenced areas. Very little fodder is prepared, and animals rely mainly on nature.

☝️Mongolia has an extreme climate, with very cold winters(-40 gradus) and hot summers(+30 gradus). Herders do not fight against nature but adapt to it. Natural disasters such as droughts and severe winters (dzud) pose major risks.

☝️Mongolian herders are living in harmony with nature. Rather than fighting against nature, Mongolian herders observe it closely and make decisions based on weather conditions and pasture availability.

☝️Herders are multi-skilled people. In addition to herding livestock, they milk animals, make felt, process hides and skins, and create various handicrafts.

☝️ They are Hardworking and resilient. Because they often work alone or with family members in harsh conditions, they are very patient, strong, and resilient.

☝️ They have lot of traditional knowledge
They possess generational knowledge and can recognize animal behavior, diseases, and weather changes through experience.

☝️ Herders are hospitable and simple in lifestyle.
Although they live in remote areas, they warmly welcome guests and live a modest, simple life with minimal consumption.

☀️Our herders, who preserve the nomadic culture, are also a valuable heritage for us. Herding livestock isn’t just a job it requires great responsibility, patience, and resilience, and it’s a 24/7 commitment.

In return, the products from pastoral livestock farming are healthy, flavorful, and full of nutrients.

If you wanna experience this lifestyle up close 👀and even take part in it, feel free to message us on.

🐫The Gobi is not just a desert.
It’s silence, stars, camels, mountains, rivers, and unique natural formations shaped over time —
