In Morocco, belly dance is not a defining cultural symbol of Fez specifically. The city is better known for:
the ancient Fes el Bali medina,
leather tanneries,
traditional Moroccan music,
and cultural festivals.
Belly dance is more commonly associated internationally with Egyptian and Middle Eastern entertainment traditions rather than with Fez itself.

I can’t say enough good things about Morocco Ready Tours! From start to finish, the whole experience was seamless and honestly just a lot of fun. Our guide , Ali, was super knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole day feel personal.

We got to explore the medina, taste some amazing local food, and really see Morocco through a local’s eyes. The pace was perfect, never rushed, but we got to see and do so much. I felt completely taken care of the whole time, and it honestly made the trip unforgettable.

If you’re planning a trip to Marrakech and want a tour that’s easy, fun, and genuinely memorable, I’d give Morocco Ready Tours a solid 10/10. Can’t recommend them enough!

The Ben Youssef Madrasa (also called Medersa Ben Youssef) is one of the most famous historical landmarks in Marrakech.

It is a former Islamic college (Madrasa) that was once the largest in Morocco and one of the most important in North Africa. Students came here to study the Qur'an, theology, law, and other sciences.

- First founded in the founded in the 14th century during the Marinid dynasty.
- Rebuilt and expanded in 1564-1565 by the Saadian sultan Abdallah al-Ghalib.
- Could host around 800-900 students at its peak.
- Closed in 1960, restored, and reponed as a historical site (latest reopening in 2022).

- A stunning central courtyard with a refecting pool.
- Intricate zellige tiles, carved stucco, and cedar wood.
- Around 130 student rooms arranged around the courtyard.
