✈️ A major chapter in Asian aviation is coming to an end…
Asiana Airlines will officially disappear as a standalone brand on December 17, 2026, as it is fully absorbed into Korean Air following years of merger delays.
After completing the takeover in December 2024, Korean Air is now integrating Asiana’s aircraft, routes, staff, and loyalty program into its much larger network — not shutting it down, but transforming it.
🔄 The shift also means Asiana will exit Star Alliance and align with Korean Air’s SkyTeam partnership, reshaping South Korea’s aviation landscape.
With plans for schedule optimization, brand consolidation, and a unified frequent-flyer program, this move marks the rise of a single dominant Korean carrier.
For passengers, it’s the end of a familiar name — and the beginning of a new era in the skies.
