Sri Lanka Nears Tourism Glory as Arrivals Surpass 2.3 Million Again
Sri Lanka has once again crossed the 2.3 million tourist arrivals mark in 2025, achieving this milestone for only the second time in the country’s history. The island last reached this level in its record-breaking year of 2018, when total arrivals stood at 2,333,796.
After welcoming 2,053,465 tourists in 2024, the strong growth seen in 2025 highlights a powerful recovery and renewed global confidence in Sri Lanka as a destination. With steady demand from key source markets and consistent arrival numbers, the country is now edging closer to what could become its best tourism year in decades.
This achievement reflects the resilience of Sri Lanka’s tourism industry and signals a promising road ahead for travel, hospitality, and the wider economy.
