In the true spirit of giving, we are delighted to share that nearly 50% of the profits generated from our 2025 events were reinvested into our latest CSR initiative.

On 6th February 2026, SLAAR extended its support to families in the Nuwara Eliya region affected by Cyclone Ditwah, providing essential blankets to help them during this challenging time.
Huge thanks to our member GSA companies and partners for proving that industry leadership goes far beyond the runway.

SLAAR Strengthens Community Resilience Through Meaningful CSR Initiative

As part of its ongoing commitment to social responsibility, the Sri Lankan Association of Airline Representatives (SLAAR) successfully carried out one of its key Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives for 2025, supporting families affected by Cyclone Ditwah. Under this project, blankets were distributed to 250 families across four states in the Nuwara Eliya region, offering much-needed relief to communities impacted by severe weather conditions.

Organized by the SLAAR CSR Committee, this initiative reflects the Association’s strong belief that responsible industry leadership goes beyond aviation and commercial success. As a non-profit organization, SLAAR remains deeply committed to rebuilding the nation and contributing positively to the lives of those in need. It is especially meaningful that nearly 50% of the profits generated from SLAAR’s training programs and social events during 2025 were reinvested into CSR activities, as pledged by the Executive Committee at last year’s annual get-together.

SLAAR extends its sincere appreciation to its member airlines, freight forwarders, travel agents, the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, and all partners and sponsors who continuously support SLAAR events. Their contributions made it possible to transform collective industry efforts into tangible humanitarian support, reinforcing SLAAR’s mission to serve both the aviation community and the nation at large.

The Sri Lanka Association of Airline Representatives (SLAAR) successfully conducted an Airport Familiarization Program for our valued travel agents and member airlines, providing a unique opportunity to experience live airport operations firsthand.

Over 160 participants joined across four batches, gaining valuable exposure to key operational areas including Check-in, Departure, Duty Free, Immigration, Baggage Arrival, and Customs. The program offered participants an insightful behind-the-scenes look at how our airport ecosystem functions efficiently to serve travelers every day.

A heartfelt thank you to the Ground Handling Division of SriLankan Airlines, led by Pallegangoda, and the dedicated staff who extended their full support in organizing this successful initiative.

This event was yet another milestone accomplished by the SLAAR Training Committee.

A big thank you to everyone who contributed to making this program both educational and inspiring for all participants.
