Where many Chinese gather, there appears a shop, and where the Koreans are - a church. Or a temple.
I once thought that my Korean teachers were just joking until I got to Seoul and realized that for the love of these buildings, the inhabitants of the Country of Morning Freshness beat both Russians and Europeans.
Take the Gangnam district: high-rises, malls - bang, and a Buddhist temple! However, Bongeunsa is so beautiful and restful that it's a sin not to go there to admire the place.
The temple was built at the end of the VIII century and received its current name only in 1498 after restoration (the very word ""Bongeunsa"" means an act of worship to the king).
In my unprofessional opinion, the Bongeunsa Temple is one of many similar on the territory of the Korean capital. What, one may ask, is the uniqueness of the complex? Here:
1. 3,479 sacred Buddhist scriptures of 13 types are kept.
2. Korea's tallest 23-meter Buddha statue is located.
3. Exist a holy spring or, more precisely, a source of holy water. What to say? The water is delicious.
There are also a stone garden, pagodas, exotic plants, traditional gazebos, statues, murals on the territory of the complex... As they say, it's better to come and see once. Believe me, it's definitely worth it!

— view on Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CdRrVq9KdWZ/
