While China celebrates Singles day and Japan celebrates Pocky Day. Korea celerates a thin chocolatey stick snack as Pepero Day!

While Pepero Day origin is uknown.
There are many theories and one is usually traced to a news story set in 1983. In the story, two female middle school students in the Yeongnam region exchanged Pepero wishing that they would both become tall and thin. Thus the myth one must eat 11 packets of Pepero on November 11, 11:11 am and 11:11 pm at 11 seconds exactly.” 😁

From 1997, Lotte started to use the aforementioned school story to successfully promote Pepero Day (11.11).

In observance of Pepero Day, people celebrate it by giving Pepero boxes as gifts every November 11th. Think of it as Valentine’s Day for everyone! They are typically exchanged between couples, friends, co-workers, family members as a symbol of their affection.

And for those who doesn’t like chocolate comes what they call 돈 빼빼로 (Donppaeppaero) rolled up paper bills to make it look like Pepero sticks. Then put these rolled-up bills in a rectangular box similar to that of a Pepero’s then be the “Money Pepero”! 💸

📌 November 11 is also Farmers' Day, enacted in Korea in 1996 to promote farming. Thus the alternative "Garaetteok Day" has been proposed to promote the exchange of garaetteok (sticks of white tteok, a type of Korean rice cake.

Seoul Seokchon Lake Luminarie Festival 2024-2025

The Autumn and Winter at the Lake and Luminarie Festival returns to Seokchon Lake in Songpa-gu, Seoul from October 25, 2024 – February 29, 2025.

Luminare installations will light up Seokcheon Lake with Luminare gates, Luminare tunnels, Themed Lighting, Photo Zones and more!
Here are some of what you shouldn't miss:

• Friday, October 25, 6:30 PM – Fireworks
show will kick off the festival.
•Saturday, October 26 – Special performance by the Lotte World Marching Band.
•Saturday, October 26 – Sunday, October 27 (12:00 PM – 8:00pm) There will be different food to try from Food Trucks and exciting stuffs to try at the Interactive Experience Booths.
•From October 26 to November 25 there will be Cultural Performances and Flea Markets.

Last weekend, we joined my favorite tour company Goh Travel Korea/ fun travel group!, they're the only pet friendly tour service which means I got to travel with Miyuki and they also often provide her a comfy space to have a relaxing trip.

The tour headed to Pohang - the largest city in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. And here are the places that we visited during the trip. And was joined by our fellow Kababayan and other nationalities.

As it will be Autumn soon, I hope everyone had the chance to have some Summer fun.

Last Saturday, July 27th Rap Musika -
Pinoy Rap Battle 2024 Season 3 was held at JR Pub Itaewon.

As one of the organizers of the said event I would like to send our appreciation to each and everyone who came.
To my co-organizers, sponsors, contestants, special performers and above all our Kababayans who showed their support to our very own Filipino talents!

장마-Jangma - also called the Plum Rain - officially starts today June 29th, for nearly two months June to mid July, the late Spring and early Summer. These weather systems can produce heavy rainfall and flooding.

Ready with your umbrellas and boots as it’ll be raining most days of the weeks. Houses will also be prone to molds so proper ventilation is advise.
