"People ask, 'Who would come to Korea for trekking?'"
Back in 2010, when we first started, people scoffed, asking who would ever come to Korea for a bicycle tour. Today, TEAMAX ADVENTURE has proven them wrong, and now, we are planting yet another new seed.
2026 marks the official beginning of our trekking tours for international visitors. Our very first official journey along the Sanmani Trail (Jirisan Dulle-gil) with our wonderful guest, Karen, has given me immense confidence and a clear vision for the future.
Korea may not have massive mountain ranges like the Alps. However, it embraces cozy mountain villages nestled along the foothills of Jirisan, the warm-hearted people who live there, their rich local cuisine, and sacred temples holding nearly two thousand years of history. The Sanmani Trail is more than just a hiking path—it is a 'bridge' that connects village to village, people to people, and culture to culture.
Through this journey, we rediscovered the true value of Korean mountains and felt a deep pride in our culture.
Just as Anthony, our very first Seoul-to-Busan cycling guest back in 2010, planted the seed for bicycle touring in Korea, Karen has now planted the seed for Korean trekking travel.
We have always quietly blazed our own trails despite the skepticism. Now, we will nurture this precious new seed until it grows into a grand, deep-rooted forest. Stay tuned for the new future of Korean trekking with TEAMAX ADVENTURE. 🌲✨
"한국에 누가 트레킹을 하러 오냐고 묻습니다."
2010년, "한국에 누가 자전거를 타러 오냐"는 비아냥 섞인 비웃음 속에 시작했던 자전거 여행이 지금의 TEAMAX ADVENTURE를 만든 것처럼, 저는 또 하나의 새로운 씨앗을 심었습니다.
2026년, 방한 외국인들을 위한 한국 트레킹 여행의 본격적인 시작. 그리고 공식 첫 손님인 카렌(Karen)과 함께한 '산마니 트레일(지리산 둘레길)' 여정은 저에게 ‘확신’과 ‘크나큰 자신감’을 선물해 주었습니다.
한국에는 알프스처럼 거대한 산맥은 없을지 모릅니다. 하지만 지리산 자락을 따라 자리 잡은 정겨운 산골 마을들, 그곳에서 살아가는 사람들의 따뜻한 정, 그리고 이천 년 가까운 역사를 품은 사찰과 풍성한 향토 음식이 있습니다. 산마니 트레일은 단순한 등산로가 아닙니다. 마을과 마을, 사람과 사람, 그리고 문화와 문화를 연결하는 깊은 '길'입니다.
이번 여행을 통해 우리 산의 가치를 재발견했고, 한국 문화에 대한 깊은 자부심을 얻었습니다.
2010년, 서울-부산 자전거 여행의 첫 손님이었던 앤소니(Anthony)가 한국 자전거 여행의 위대한 씨앗을 심어주었듯, 이번 첫 트레킹 손님인 카렌(Karen) 역시 한국 트레킹 여행이라는 소중한 씨앗을 심어주었습니다.
주변의 의문 속에서도 묵묵히 길을 만들어왔듯이, 이번에 심은 작은 씨앗도 단단히 가꾸어 크고 울창한 나무로 키워내겠습니다.
