We recently returned from Jamaica with hearts that feel both heavy and hopeful.
It has taken us some time to begin sharing because we needed space to mentally and emotionally unpack this trip before telling the story the right way.

Stop #1 Darliston
We had the privilege of visiting several villages to deliver gifts and essential supplies, and one place that will stay with me forever is Darliston in Westmoreland.

Darliston was hit hard by the hurricane. Because it is far from Montego Bay, much of the aid has not reached them yet. Homes were damaged, resources are scarce, and many families are still trying to rebuild with very little support.

One resident, Kady, found CX Cares through a Facebook post and reached out just before we left. She specifically asked for food, water, tarps, and blankets. These items can make a life changing difference right now. They are not luxuries. They are necessities that help families regain dignity and stability. Darliston was not even on our radar, but we knew we could not say no. When I looked it up on a map, I realized it was in the direct path of Hurricane Melissa, perched at the top of a mountain, and about 30 minutes south of where we were already headed.

Throughout the trip, what stood out most was not the devastation. It was the people.

The people of Jamaica are hopeful, resilient, and strong. Even after loss, they welcomed us with smiles, gratitude, and open hearts. They shared their stories. They laughed. They believe tomorrow will be better.
I am sharing this because Darliston, and villages like it, need to be seen and remembered. When we come together to support them, we help turn resilience into recovery.

This trip would not have been possible without the friendship, partnership, and incredible support of Reggae Tours. We are deeply grateful for their guidance, logistics, and genuine heart for the people of Jamaica. Thank you for helping make this mission both possible and impactful.
