👟👟Transnational Cultural Routes and Pilgrimage trails are a fascinating research topic that we are lucky enough to be actively engaged in! They can be powerful tools for local development in the rural territories they traverse, but one key challenge is their multi-level governance, which involves the coordination between a myriad of actors, both across sectors and at local, regional and transnational level.
👉 As part of Center for Advanced Studies in Tourism - CAST and rurAllure project, we had the chance to participate lately in a number of events dedicated to creating synergies and further developing these networks of actors, which were the perfect occasions to network and learn about the common challenges of developing and managing pilgrimage trails in Europe.
📸 Here some pictures from lovely Val di Susa as part of the 2-day workshop and walkshop organized by GAL Escartons e Valli Valdesi to create a network of sites related to St. Michael in Europe (first 3 pictures are from Claudio Allais 😍)
