Thanks to ‘s video about charging in Scandinavia I watched before leaving, all of the providers were easy to find and pricing was easy to understand. The only trouble is that Mašiniukas is being penalised for not being able to take more than 50kw from fast chargers as part of the price is calculated by minute, and after 80% of the battery charging is even slower, so I get to pay more… which is not fair though I do realise it’s a good system for newer cars & the future. So I’ve changed my charging strategy - trying to charge only to 80% and to stop more often (see the price difference in photos!) Except when going into the mountains - although I’m already used to seeing 5km range vs 25km in the navigator when going uphill and the car recharging on recuperation almost to 50% downhill, it’s still a bit worrying every time 😅
I use ABRP for ascent/descent route planning (a bit too optimistic but still gives you an idea), PlugShare has almost all chargers marked in Norway (though not in Sweden or Estonia) while the cheapest provider for me is Billkraft, though I use Mer and Fortum regularly, too. I haven’t subscribed to any of those, just downloaded the apps & registered. By the way, there should be huge reductions on tolls and ferries for EVs in Norway but I’ll know for sure when I get home as it’s all automated - they read your license plate (still no idea where&when exactly, and we took like 5 ferries 😀) and send you the bill home!
