Travel day. Heading to Como for tomorrow’s 120th edition of Il Lombardia, the final classic of the season. Really excited for this - the start list is stacked, it’s like a 2nd World Champ but this time with trade teams. No Tadej is disappointing but it sure opens up the race. Trip planning…. This weekend I’m heading out to Como for another Tranquillo Tours double header. On the Saturday I’ll be on the final climb of San Fermo Della Battaglia to watch the last classic of the cycling season, Il Lombardia 🚲. And on the Sunday I’ll be in the iconic Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia to watch Como v AS Roma in Serie A ⚽️. As weekends go this one should be a belter. Stay tuned here for updates.

This weekend it’s Il Lombardia, the race that signifies the end of the road calendar for another year. This year it’ll start in beautiful Bergamo and finish in exquisite Como. And I’ll be there … on the final climb, the San Fermo della Battaglia (about 2.7 km at 7.2%) which the riders take on twice, with the final ascent just 5km from the finish in Como. Very excited to see who can take Tadej’s crown this year (Pogi has won the last 5!). Remco, Del Torro, Seixas, McNulty, Pidcock, Jorgensen, Ciccone? The latest framed jersey for the bike room - a Team Sky jersey signed by both Wout Poels and Ben Swift. Wout became the first Team Sky monument winner when we won Liège-Bastogne-Liège in 2016. And Ben is a double national champion winning in my home city of Lincoln in 2021 after his 2019 victory in Norwich. I’ve always loved this Rapha designed jersey, one of the best in recent years.
