✨✨The magic of Venezia✨✨

I hear people say not to visit Venice because it’s too touristy.
•
While I’m all about visiting the smaller, off-the-beaten path places, some things are touristy for a reason and deserve to be visited! Venice is definitely one of those places!
•
I encourage everyone to visit Venice and anywhere else you may have an interest in, despite what others say! For me, I thought Venice would be a one-time visit that I could check off the list and never return to.
•
I’ve now been twice and am planning a third!! Such is the magic of Bella Venezia!!
•

Swimming in the teal blue waters off of Capri is one of my all-time favorite travel experiences! The water was so warm even in the shaded alcove in which we were swimming at 9am!

I don’t like seafood.
•
While on Capri this last September, we went to an amazing restaurant overlooking the Blue Grotto. Months before our trip, I had perused the menu to ensure that yes, there was at least one non-seafood dish that I could order.
•
When we arrived, however, I saw that the menu had changed (as all good seasonal restaurant menus do!) and now the only items on the menu were seafood items 😳
•
I said to myself, “Well, if there’s anywhere in the world I’m going to enjoy seafood, it’s going to be here, so I might as well go for it!”
•
I ordered this risotto with shrimp on it, hoping the shrimp would just be on top and I could just pick them off.
•
But they weren’t just on top. They were also chopped up into little bits and stirred into the risotto itself!!
•
So I closed my eyes and I took a bite. •
And, much to my surprise, I loved it!! It was delicious! I ate every last bite!
•
So the moral of the story is, when traveling, 1) check the menu RIGHT BEFORE you go if you have strong dietary preferences, and 2) keep an open mind!! I never would have ordered this delicious dish otherwise, and I would have missed out, not only on its deliciousness, but also on the whole experience of the restaurant, which was amazing!
•
Plus, I got to follow the meal up with a visit to the “Temptation Room” (swipe to see), and that would have been a real tragedy.
