🚄❤️ A Journey of Hope: Vande Bharat Delivers a Donor Heart, Saves a Life

A proud and historic moment for Indian Railways 🇮🇳

For the first time in the nation's history, Indian Railways successfully transported a donor heart by train, marking a major milestone in emergency medical logistics and organ transplantation

The donor heart was transported from Surat to Ahmedabad aboard the Mumbai Central–Gandhinagar Capital Vande Bharat Express and was then swiftly transferred to the U.N. Mehta Institute of Cardiology & Research Centre, where it was used in a life-saving transplant.

This remarkable operation was made possible through meticulous planning and seamless coordination between Indian Railways, the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Gujarat Police, and dedicated medical teams, ensuring the organ reached the recipient hospital safely and within the critical time window.

This achievement highlights how modern rail infrastructure is not only transforming transportation but also playing a vital role in saving lives.

🇮🇳 Salute to every railway employee, RPF personnel, police officer, doctor, and healthcare worker who made this life-saving mission a success.

During the meeting, two additional important railway demands were also raised:

✅ Upgradation of Nishchintapur Market Halt Station on the Sealdah–Namkhana route into a better passenger-friendly station.

✅ Early completion of the Lakshikantapur–Namkhana Double Line Project, which will significantly improve rail connectivity, increase train capacity, and enhance travel convenience across South 24 Parganas.

These initiatives are expected to strengthen regional connectivity, support local economic growth, and provide faster, safer, and more reliable railway services for thousands of passengers.
