In a harrowing near-miss on Eid-ul-Fitr 2025, educator Shakiru Arowogbadamu evaded a deadly ambush orchestrated by a local politician and his associates at Big B’s Hotel in Sango Ota. Stranded with just ₦500 and a broken motorcycle, Shakiru earned and fitted a replacement part only to be falsely accused of theft and besieged by an aggressive group at a Lagos mosque. He found refuge in a neighboring home before Pipeline Police officers intervened, leading to medical treatment at Igando General Hospital and the recovery of his severely damaged bike. This ordeal underscored how misinformation, political coercion, and digital illiteracy leave youth vulnerable in informal economies. Today, through the 3MTT program and SereEdTech’s AI-powered data literacy platform, Shakiru champions digital empowerment and safe community networks to protect and uplift Nigeria’s young entrepreneurs.
