Region 9 Conference – A Grand Evening of Leadership & Fellowship 🙏

The Region 9 Conference, led by Lion Sajitha Shanavas, was beautifully conducted yesterday at 6 PM at Hotel Residency Tower, Trivandrum, with the gracious presence of around 300 Lions members.

The vibrant participation and dedicated efforts of clubs including Murukkumpuzha, Trivandrum Gems, Trivandrum Fort, Trivandrum Majesty, Kilimanoor Ponganadu, Nagaroor, Karatte, and Pothencode made the event truly remarkable.

Under the strong leadership of Lion A. Nazeer Khan and Lion C.K. Rajan, Region 9 Avacado has grown into one of the most active and distinguished regions in the District 318 A

The conference was formally inaugurated by First Vice District Governor Lion Er. V. Anilkumar. Second Vice District Governor Lion Adv. R.V. Biju delivered the keynote address and honored the Region Chairperson. PDG Lion Dr. A.K. Abbas (2013–14), our Everyday Hero, inaugurated various service projects and also felicitated the Chairperson and distinguished guests.

The event was enriched with prayer by Lion Gopan, flag salutation by Lion Ajmal, a warm welcome by Lion Rajesh J. Nair, and introductions by Lion S.V. Anilal, Lion N. Suresh, and Lion V. Muralidharan Nair. Activity reports by Zone Chairpersons Lion Nazeer Khan and Lion C.K. Rajan, along with the inspiring conference address and concluding remarks by the Region Chairperson, added great value to the gathering.

Felicitation speeches by Lion A.K. Shanavas, Secretary General Lion S. Prasad, Council of Lion Ladies President Lion Jayasree Gopalakrishnan, Region Chairperson Lion Santhosh Kumar, Lion Faziludin and Lion Adv. Reena Monsy further elevated the occasion. The elegant compering by Lion Oomer Shareef, melodious musical performance led by Lion P. Viju, and the enthusiastic involvement of Muzhukkumpuzha Lions Club members made the evening truly memorable.

A delightful dinner and warm fellowship added charm to this wonderful conference.

Zone B Conference – Region 9 | A Memorable Evening of Service & Fellowship🙏

The Zone B Conference of Region 9, under the dynamic leadership of Lion C K Rajan, was successfully held yesterday evening at the Lions Centre with the enthusiastic participation of Lions members.

The conference was inaugurated by Past District Governor Lion Dr. A. Kannan.

The project inaugurations were carried out by Region Chairperson Lion Sajitha Shanavas.
The event was graced by Club Presidents:
Lion P. L. Rajesh (Murukkumpuzha), Lion P. Viju (Trivandrum Gems), Lion S. P. Sajo (Trivandrum Majestic), and Lion Rajesh J Nair (Trivandrum Fort).
During the function, the Zone Chairperson honored office bearers and senior members including Lion A. K. Shanavas, Lion Prof. M.Basheer,Lion Abdul Wahid, and Lion Sethumadhavan.
Secretaries’ reports were presented by Lion Subhash Francis Gomes (Murukkumpuzha), Lion N. Suresh (Trivandrum Majestic), and Lion Raghunandan (Trivandrum Gems).
The introduction of the chief guest was done by Lion Padmakumar (Treasurer, Murukkumpuzha).

The event was enriched by the prayer song by Lion Rajitha, flag salutation by Lion Ajitha Mohandas, vote of thanks by Lion Sunilkumar (Treasurer, Trivandrum Fort), and anchoring by Lion Ummer Shereef.

A musical evening led by Lion Viju (Gems President) and a delightful dinner & snacks arranged by Lion Sathyasheelan Catering made the occasion truly memorable.

Heartiest congratulations on successfully organizing the Drug Abuse Awareness Collective Walk as part of the 170th Drug Abuse Awareness Seminar. It was truly inspiring to witness such a massive and well-coordinated initiative, flagged off by His Excellency Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at Kowdiar Square and concluding at Manaveeyam Veedhi.

The valedictory function inaugurated by Hon. Minister V. Sivankutty in the esteemed presence of PID Lion Murugan Sir, District Governor Lion Jain C Job, 1st VDG Lion Anilkumar, 2nd VDG Lion R V Biju, respected PDGs Lion Suresh Sir, Lion Abbas Sir, Lion John G Kottra Sir, Lion A G Rajendran Sir, Lion Alex Sir, Lion Ramakrishnan Sir, Ward Councillors Adv. K S Sabarinathan, Adv. Rakhi Ravikumar, Smt. Shirly, Excise Commissioners and many other dignitaries added great significance to the occasion.

The rally was a grand success with vibrant announcements, Excise Patrol, Roller Skating team, NCC cadets, music band, 300+ Senior Lion Ladies and Lions from District 318A, the respected Air Force Veterans group, and a powerful Flash Mob for Drug Awareness — altogether gathering 500+ participants in strong unity against drug abuse.

It’s even more commendable that the awareness mission continues with seminars at Kamaleshwaram Higher Secondary School followed by Mahatma Gandhi College.

True appreciation and hats off to you, Biju chetta. Once again, you have proved that only a great leader with exceptional leadership skills can execute such a massive and meaningful initiative with perfection.
