🚨 PASSPORT WARNING – PLEASE CHECK YOURS NOW! 🚨
IMPORTANT TRAVEL INFORMATION ‼️‼️
There is still a lot of confusion around passport rules, and even some media reports don't always explain them correctly.
✈️ If you're travelling to the EU or Schengen Area, there are TWO separate checks you need to make, each one is independent of the other:
✅ Issue Date
Your passport must have been issued less than 10 years before the date you enter the country.
This is where many people get caught out. If your passport was issued before October 2018, you may have been given extra months when it was renewed. Those extra months can make the expiry date look valid when the passport is actually too old for travel. (Make sure to check your date of issue for the 10 year validity!)
✅ Expiry Date
You must have enough validity remaining on your passport to meet the entry requirements of the country you're visiting (some require 3 months, some 6, some no extra time at all). Check your expiry date!

🇪🇸 Spain
• Passport must be less than 10 years old on arrival
• Must have at least 3 months remaining on the day you leave Spain
🇬🇷 Greece
• Passport must be less than 10 years old on arrival
• Must have at least 3 months remaining on the day you leave Greece
🇵🇹 Portugal
• Passport must be less than 10 years old on arrival
• Must have at least 3 months remaining on the day you leave Portugal
🇹🇷 Turkey
• Passport must have at least 150 days remaining on arrival
• Must have a full blank page for entry and exit stamps
ℹ️ Note - Tourists in Turkey also need to carry a form of photo ID with them at all times, so don’t forget to put your best pic in your bag.
🇺🇸 USA
To enter the US, your passport must be valid for the length of your planned stay.
ℹ️ Note - You must have the correct approval prior to travel. This will be either a valid US visa or Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA), depending on your personal circumstances and purpose of travel.
US authorities enforce entry rules strictly. If you do not have the correct immigration status, or if you breach the terms of your entry, there is a risk you may be detained, refused entry, or removed (deported).
