Finally getting a weekend to dust of "her" bike gear and get a run out, a few stops and a coffee. Rest of the afternoon was spent dragging out gear to find everything for ABR and a few other upcoming trips.

First proper run this year up the North Coast with 4 seasons in one day, but some dry roads and able to blow the cobwebs off. Some milage needs built up, a few trips on the horizon, ABR in June and a trip abroad after that, so a bit of bike normality kicking in after a crazy year of work finally balances out.

2.5k miles done last year which is woeful, when that used to be a typical week away lol ....... 2026 fixes that.

A couple of days pottering around Donegal on our week off work, stayed at the a fairly new hotel in Letterkenny and a beautifully restored historic Old Estate. 22 degrees going and raining on the way back, so perfect Irish weather, but a nice relaxing and lazy couple of days on the bike.

A week on from already, Sunday was another walk around the site, pack up and a 300 miler to Scotland, for a quick bit of R&R before the boat home to Belfast on Monday morning.

Reflection ? Busy as hell, but didn't have to queue for anything, either at the bar or food stalls for much more than 5 or 10 minutes. No issues with showers, toilets, just the odd hunt for somewhere to sit, well organised, just a bit of extra security and gate management next year i think.

Loved it as always, tickets already purchased for next year, gear put away, but wishing we were back already ! Roll on 2026.

Now for an upcoming week off work and a trip somewhere ....... anywhere !

Saturday was a slight hangover day, relaxing, listening to the talks (went out to the course but it got closed due to an incident) so more walking, sunny beers, fire pits and music, the band at the hippy caravan were unbelievable on Sat night, but a semi sensible and amazing day around the site, just a Sunday morning bit of packing and a trip to Scotland to see out the ABR Festival for another year.

Friday night is night at for us, last year was awesome (and caught us off guard) this year was just as good ...... with an earlier trip thrown in to buy some Bee Juice.

Down for breakfast, a coffee and walk around the stands for a look, then a quick trip to 's (massive fans of the amazon show) for a shandy and packet of crisps, bee juice purchase and a look around before back for dinner, more wandering, meeting up for beers and of course Krystal Roxx.

Love heading to ABR as you bump into loads of old mates (unfortunately & had to head on early) but as always, beer, craic and an Ibiza style party is not a bad way to finish a Friday night !

Love a good rock night, but I grew up in the 90's lol

So a few pics from the start of the to the end with the typical "first day at school at the front door picture"

Wednesday evening was finish work, finish packing then meet up with a few biking mates (funnily enough made aquentance with at ABR 4 years ago and usually bump into them over the weekend for a beer) so headed down together to the Dublin boat from Bangor for the 1.20am sailing.

120 miles to the boat and a rather noisy ferry filled with snoring 😴 (not guilty honest), stuck on the boat for a while with a crash, it was a hammer down the 200 miles to Ragley to get it done for us, while the rest went into the Welsh Hills ...... pi***ng it down for a couple of hours as usual.

Got in about 9.45 at Ragley, seamless 10 minute check in and headed off to find a spot (it was already pretty busy) but spot picked, setup where we wanted, tidied up, had a look around the whole site, food then of course that "take it easy on Thursday at the bar" was mentioned, but no notice taken as usual lol

Bed early enough and that was the end of a long, but Super Thursday, ready for the weekend to begin properly !

First time with the Tent we got last year, but il come back to it in another post.

Back home after 700+ miles and another fantastic ABR Festival, packed to the gills (maybe getting too packed ?) but as always an amazing weekend catching up with friends, when you got through to them with the woeful signal and WiFi, but its the friendliest bike event you will ever go to. I always feel healthier after coming back from the festival even after the beer but thats probably after walking about 20 miles a day lol

Weather was brutal, in a good sunny way, plenty of new stands and tents, although if they go any bigger those tents need doubled up, was hard to get seating anywhere unless there really early so you needed to plan you talks visits.

Sounds like im whinging dosent it, honestly had the best weekend as always, usual talk on the way back home with her, "getting to big" and becoming mainstream with everyone going, not just bikers which takes the shine off a bit .......... but we do still love it and will undoubtedly be booking for next year (even after the moan)

What did you think of it this year ?
