While the directors of the company are now 3 brothers,it was in fact their father,Gerry Kiernan and his brothers (Patsy, Brendan and Tommy) that started out many years ago delivering milk. They all started with Woodpark Dairies in 1956, one was involved in the farm side, while the other 3 where responsible for sales and distribution. In 1966 all the smaller dairies where taken over by Mervill Dair
ies, who operated in Killester and Finglas, Hughes brothers who operated in Rathfarnham and Dublin dairies who operated out of Kimmage and the Howth road in Killester. In 1970, all of these companies amalgamated to form Premier Dairies. In the 1970's the younger Kiernan siblings began to get involved in the dairy business by helping thier father with deliveries and debt collection. In 1981, a young Martin Kiernan started as an employee with Premier dairies delivering milk door to door. In 1982, Martin moved on to Owen's Dairies which were a Navan based dairy that had arrived in Dublin. Owen' Dairies were taken over by Baileboro Co-op and in 1987 were taken over by Avonmore. During Martin's time here he formed an excellent relationship with sales, production and quality departments improving on all of these areas. the merger took place between Avonmore and Waterford foods which is now known as Glanbia Plc. Due to change in conditions, circumstances and personnel Martin felt it was time to depart from Glanbia and incorporated a new company call Cold Chain Food Distributors Ltd trading as Dairyland Cuisine in March 2000. In 2003, his 2 brothers Gerard and David who were existing employees became directors of the company . And to date Martins 2 sisters Susan and Gillian also play an active role in the accounts side of the business. Dairyland Cuisine are proud to remain a large competitor with an ever expanding market share. Dairyland Cuisine have and always will support our own economy and Irish jobs without any adverse effects on price, quality or customer service.
