Some journeys lead you to a place. This one led to people.
Chris came to Ireland knowing only one thing: somewhere, a member of his family still lived in the house where his mother was born — a 400-year-old former mill that had belonged to the family for generations. He didn't know their name. He didn't know exactly where it stood.
With a little local knowledge — and a village vicar who remembered the old mill well — our guide Bobby tracked it down. And there, at the door of the very home his mother first opened her eyes in, was Chris's second cousin, still living in it after all these years.
The discoveries didn't end there. In a quiet country graveyard, the family find the resting place of their ancestors — Lizzie standing at the grave of her great-grandparents. Generations of one family, meeting across time in a single moment.
This is what an ancestry tour can become. Not a list of sights to tick off, but a door opening onto your own story.
