Today we honor the courage, sacrifice, and vision of the heroes who gave us the gift of freedom. May the tricolor always fly high as a symbol of our unity, diversity, and relentless progress. Wishing everyone a very proud and Happy Independence Day.

Chardi Kala is not just stubborn hope. It is the strength to keep seeing light, even in a dark valley.
There will be seasons in life when everything feels uncertain.

You may pray and still not understand the answer.
You may work hard and still face disappointment.
You may lose something you deeply valued.
You may find yourself standing in a place you never imagined you would be.

And in those moments, Chardi Kala does not mean pretending that everything is okay.

It means refusing to believe that the darkness is all there is.

It is the quiet strength that says, “I may not understand what Waheguru is doing, but I will not stop trusting Him.”

Sometimes the light comes as a blessing.
Sometimes it comes as a lesson.
Sometimes it comes through a closed door that protects you from something you cannot yet see.

Hukam teaches us that we cannot control every chapter of our lives. But we can choose how we walk through them.

We can walk with Sabr instead of panic.
With Ardaas instead of fear.
With Gratitude instead of bitterness.
With Chardi Kala instead of giving up.

The mountain may be steep.
The valley may be dark.
The road may be longer than you expected.

But keep walking.

Because Chardi Kala is not believing that life will never hurt.

It is believing that even when life hurts, Waheguru is still with you.

And sometimes, that little bit of faith is enough to take the next step.

Keep your spirit rising.

Joda Ghar: The Ultimate Leveler of Human Ego

Among all the sacred spaces within a Gurdwara, there is one unassuming corner that holds a profound leadership lesson: the Joda Ghar(the shoe house).

During a recent visit to Gurdwara Bangla Sahib Ji, I was blessed with the opportunity to perform Seva (voluntary service) here. What began as a simple task turned into a powerful masterclass in humility and equality.

Standing there, I watched a microcosm of humanity unfold. In the Joda Ghar, social barriers evaporate entirely:

The shoes of a corporate executive rest directly beside those of a daily wage labourer.

The footwear of a high-ranking official lies next to that of an ordinary citizen.

Status, titles, and wealth lose all meaning; everyone is united under a single purpose—serving the Sangat (community).

In a world driven by constant titles and personal recognition, the Sevadars(volunteers) clean, arrange, and care for the footwear of complete strangers with absolute devotion. They do not seek appreciation; the reward is embedded entirely within the act of service itself.

True greatness is not measured by how many people serve us, but by how willingly we choose to serve others. Every visit to a Gurdwara begins here for a reason. Before we enter the Darbar Sahib, we are given a quiet opportunity to leave something vital behind.

Not just our shoes, but our ego.

Chardikals Always.
