The Order of Malta Ambulance Corps is a voluntary ambulance and first aid organisation The Order of Malta is an registered charity.

Order of Malta Ambulance Corps Rathdrum Unit was first established in the 1980’s and has been providing a range of services to Rathdrum, Wicklow, and surrounding communities since then. These services include first aid and ambulance cover at a range of sporting events including local athletic club races, national cycle events, off road motor racing, equestrian events, GAA fixtures, public events and festivals, public first aid training, 4x4 ambulance support to the National Ambulance Service during extreme weather events, and ambulance transport to persons with infirmity or disability who cannot use routine transport to attend clinical or social appointments. All these services are provided by our volunteer members who also contribute to the running of the unit in terms of organisation and fundraising. As part of a nationally registered charity the Rathdrum Order of Malta Unit is solely dependent on funds that can be raised locally and exclusively through donations and where possible grant funding. It was a busy Sunday for our volunteers today, with two crews out on duty providing first aid cover at events across Wicklow.

Our first crew began the day at Avondale Forest Park, providing first aid cover for the Athletics Wicklow Uneven Ages and Intermediate Championships. Well done to all the athletes who took part, along with the organisers and officials who helped make the event a success.

From Avondale, the crew headed to Echolan Park, Aughrim, to provide first aid cover for the Wicklow GAA Senior Football Championship Final. Congratulations to both teams on reaching the final, and well done to all players, match officials and organisers for a great day of football.

Meanwhile, our second crew was on duty in Tinahely, providing first aid cover for the Wicklow Vintage Club Annual Threshing and Vintage Show, held in aid of South Wicklow Hospice. A fantastic community event supporting a very worthy cause. Well done to everyone involved in organising the show and to all those who supported it.

Our crew has just finished duty at Echolan Park, Aughrim, providing medical cover for the Wicklow GAA Junior A Football Championship Final and Intermediate Football Championship Final.

Congratulations to both sets of players, team management and officials on reaching their respective finals. A special word of congratulations also to the match officials for their part in today's games.

We hope everyone enjoyed a fantastic day of football and would like to wish all players, supporters and spectators a safe journey home.

Last Sunday we had 2 of our Order Of Malta Ireland - Ambulance Corps - Rathdrum unit' s out and about across County Wicklow, providing first aid and medical cover at two sporting events.

One of our units was on duty in Blessingtonproviding medical cover at a Athletics Wicklow event and supporting athletes throughout the day.

Meanwhile, we had second unit in Echelon Park, Aughrim, Co. Wicklow, providing medical cover for the Wicklow GAA Intermediate and Senior Hurling Championships.

A huge congratulations to everyone who took part in both events! Well done to all the athletes, players and teams, along with the organisers who helped make both events a success

Today, members of the Order Of Malta Ireland - Ambulance Corps - Rathdrum unit were out on duty with WC16, providing medical cover for a Athletics Wicklow event in the beautiful surroundings of Avondale House.

It’s been another busy weekend for our volunteers here at the Order Of Malta Ireland - Ambulance Corps - Rathdrum unit.

Yesterday, we had an ambulance crew providing medical cover for the 5K Road Race hosted by Tomnafinnoge AthleticsClub. At the same time, our 4×4 was out in Belmont, where we have been assisting our colleagues from the Order of Malta Ireland - Ambulance Corps - Bray unit across both yesterday and today at the MCI Hard Enduro Championship.

A big congratulations to everyone who took part in both events.

Today, members of the Order Of Malta Ireland - Ambulance Corps - Rathdrum unit were delighted to assist our colleagues from the Order of Malta Ireland - Ambulance Corps - Bray unit providing medical cover for an event run by Bray Wheelers CC .

A huge congratulations to all of the participants on a fantastic day of cycling. It was great to see so many cyclists out taking part and enjoying the event.

An early start yesterday for members of Order Of Malta Ireland - Ambulance Corps - Rathdrum unit as we headed off to Tullamore to assist our colleagues from across the country at the National Ploughing Championships.

It was great to work alongside so many fellow Order of Malta Ireland members and to play our part in providing medical cover at one of the biggest events of the year.

We hope everyone who attended yesterday enjoyed the day as much as we did, and we wish the organisers, exhibitors, competitors and everyone attending the very best for the remaining two days.

Today, we had an EMT and FAR on duty at Leopardstown Races, working alongside our colleagues from the Order of Malta Ireland Ambulance Corps - Blackrock unit, Order of Malta Ireland - Ambulance Corps - Crumlin unit and the Order of Malta Dundrum Unit

A massive congratulations goes to our FAR, Tyler, who completed his very first duty with the Order of Malta today.

Our Advanced Paramedic was delighted to assist our friends and colleagues in the Order of Malta Ireland Ambulance Corps Wexford Unit over the past two days, providing medical cover for Rás na mBan as part of a multi-agency operation..

Yesterday and today, members of Order Of Malta Ireland - Ambulance Corps - Rathdrum unit were on duty providing first aid and medical cover at the National Ocean Lifesaving Championships at Brittas Bay, Co. Wicklow.

The event saw lifesaving competitors take to the beach and water, demonstrating an impressive level of skill, fitness, teamwork and lifesaving ability across the various competitions.

A huge well done to all of the competitors who took part over the weekend, and congratulations to everyone who came away with medals and achievements.
