🐄 🐎 🐕 🐑 🐐🎪 🎶
Twas the night before show day, not a creature at rest,
The cattle stood brushed and the horses at their best.
The leads for the dog show were hung up with care,
While ponies and trailers were parked everywhere.
The pet farm was quiet, though not for too long,
By morning it's goats, ducks and lambs all in song,
While somewhere a fiddle was in perfect tune,
For music that’ll carry through the afternoon.
The ring will be buzzing with judges and cheer,
Fine beasts and proud handlers all hoping this year,
From wagging tails prancing to hooves on display,
There’s something for everyone down at our show day.
With burgers, and tea, and a tune in the air,
And neighbours all meeting from here, there and everywhere,
So sleep well tonight, for tomorrow we’ll know,
There’s no day quite like the Newmarket-on-Fergus Show.
