On the doorstep to Dublin City and home to Dublin Airport Fingal Dublin offers the best of Ireland; old world charm, scenery, and a rich heritage. This 450sq.km region derives its name from the Gaelic words ’Fine Gall’ or 'land of the fair haired stranger' in reference to the Vikings who settled here.

Fire and Folklore: A Samhain Journey at Ardgillan Castle

Tours available until Friday, 31 October

📍Ardgillan Demesne, Balbriggan, Fingal, Co. Dublin, K34 C984

Step into the great hall and enter another world of flickering firelight and otherworldliness where nothing is as it seems, and mischief is at play. Around each dark corner who knows what lurks… Guided by a costumed host this is an interactive castle tour like none other, a journey around Samhain customs and traditions.

At each stop storytellers weave their spell with mystic words blending history and myth. The tragic tale of the ghostly Lady of the Stairs, dating back hundreds of years is rooted in Ardgillan Castle. Perhaps at this most magical time of year when the veil between the worlds thins to transparency, the lady might appear, dressed in white and staring out to sea.  Everyone is encouraged to wear suitable costumers – cloaks, shawls and autumn tones.

🎟️ Book directly on ardgillancastle.ie/whats-on/
