I started this recent trip to Bali discovering a beautiful new boutique in Seminyak and it’s a very different vibe to most hotels I’ve stayed at in Bali.

Modern design, soft mood lighting throughout & a polished feel the moment you step inside.
It’s stylish with its warm tones, and a little touch of understated luxury. The interior design was very thoughtful.

The amenities are wonderful and thoughtfully curated, not just the basics you get in some hotels.
Included in your stay are lots of different soft drinks & beer and some delectable jars of Balinese snacks like Tempe, banana chips & more. All complimentary.

It has a stunning rooftop pool taking in the view of Seminyak and the beach.

And the staff? So friendly and genuinely helpful, which was warm Balinese hospitality at its best.

Breakfast was a standout too with generous portions and properly tasty (not the kind you leave still hungry after 😉).

If you’re booking, I’d recommend asking for the Escape Suite if you prefer a quieter stay, as the front rooms face the main street. It’s perfect if you still want to be in the heart of Seminyak but retreat into peace when you’re ready.

It really is a chic little gem in one of Bali’s most vibrant pockets snd my favourite area, the upmarket Petitenget Seminyak .

Hint : Leave the kids and stay here as a couple or solo traveller.

**2025**

Many travels were planned as our son completed his schooling last year and he accepted a place at university to his chosen path, law.
For me, it felt like a doorway opening — not just for him, but for us all.

The world answered!
The UK, Italy, Morocco,Bali, Flores, Malta, Sicily & Vietnam, and some interstate trips.
Each place left its mark.

I learned about people — their warmth, their stories, their differences… mostly all kind…
yet some very unkind people too!

I learned about connection.

From sun-washed coastal towns,
from ancient cultures, medinas, churches, mosques, to fleeting conversations with strangers, to Gaudí’s dreamlike visions-
every destination reminded me of something simple, yet powerful:

✨Be yourself. Always✨

Thanks for following along my travels this year & liking, commenting & DMs although I know the algorithm doesn’t show you what I’ve been up to at times I’m posting for myself - it seems at times 🤷‍♀️Also thanks for all the chats and memes sent my way! Keep ‘em coming, insta can be a great laugh!

Here’s to 2026 & more travel & yes I’m heading back to Bali in the new year after taking a break along with a few new destinations on the horizon!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 🥳

I hope it’s filled with happiness & kindness always.

Many say it’s like stepping into ancient Greece (which it basically is ha)
You have the stunning Temple of Apollo, Piazza del Duomo, and the Island’s gorgeous Baroque architecture.
Wander the narrow streets, try some of the seafood at a local trattoria, and soak up the history.

My first time travelling to Sicily was at the end of September.
We started here in Ragusa.

Ragusa was nothing short of stunning.
It’s a great way to begin your holiday with so much baroque beauty, hilltop views, a beach & slow Sicilian charm.

I’m very grateful to have had the BEST tour guide on this Moroccan trip, . His deep knowledge, warm spirit, and love for Morocco made the journey truly unforgettable.

Our final stop on the tour was a visit to a Berber home — a place that felt as though it had been carved straight from the heart of the Atlas Mountains. We were welcomed with the most magnificent lunch, a feast in fact! Incredible fresh flavours served against a breathtaking mountain view.
I must say, I left feeling full in every sense — nourished, grounded, and touched by the kindness and simplicity of these beautiful people. This will stay with me forever.

The Atlas Mountains are a canvas of colour. Many layers of red & ochre, shaped by Morocco’s dry desert climate. With little rain to wash away the oxidised surface, the mineral rich earth keeps its orange/red tones.
It was incredibly hot whilst there, with the temperature reaching 38 Celsius.
Our hotel here ( ) had the most gorgeous interior design filled with locally made ceramics and rugs.

As evening fell , the sunsets made the view more magical, deepening the reds of the ground until the whole landscape seemed to glow. ❤️🧡

Our Story

I have been travelling to Bali for over 30 years and I developed an affection for the people and culture of Bali, long before I began working in the airline industry, in the early 1990s. I love Seminyak and the “foodies” culture that has existed there for some time now and I also enjoy trying all of the foods from the 5 star restaurants but also visit the cheap and cheerful warungs that were part of the way I first found Bali all those years ago, however aesthetically different, to the way it now looks. Ubud is one of my favourite places. Also Eastern Bali is incredible and often missed by many. It’s where two of the children I sponsor live and have enjoyed numerous catch ups with them showing me the real Candidasa.

Primarily, my experiences of accommodation in Bali have been in villas but also many hotels. I have stayed in many types from luxury to comfortable. I have been organising groups of women for the past 6 years . My trips are relaxing with a focus on good & organic food, cultural activities, shopping, amazing cocktails and lots of fun!

Originally an English teacher for 5 years, I moved into the airlines as a recruitment officer managing the new flight atttendants and training schools and then as ground staff/training for both Ansett and then Qantas. I then left and returned to higher education as a Tourism and Business Management and Leadership educator.

There is a difference between good and excellent details. As an organiser of groups, I can safely say that my experience and knowledge in Bali is absolutely vital when putting together a group. Having many friends and contacts in Bali over many many years has been invaluable and is essential to my success in leading these groups.
