Our Prayers Are with everyone affected by the MV Barima maritime disaster.
At this most tragic time, we join all Guyanese in hoping and praying for the safe rescue and return of passengers and crew who was aboard this vessel when it capsized during the night.

Reports indicate that 67 persons, including 15 children, have been rescued, while search-and-rescue operations continue. There have also been varying reports regarding the total number of persons who may have been aboard the vessel, adding to the concern and uncertainty being felt across the country.
Our hearts cry for everyone who experienced this terrifying ordeal, many of whom would have been asleep when the tragedy struck in darkness! It is impossible to imagine what was going through their minds as they were awakened to chaos and uncertainty as to what was happening.
We pray for the rescue teams from the GDF, Police, MARAD, OMNI, private operators and organizations who are actively involved in assisting with the ongoing operation.
