🌍 We have successfully finalized the *Beyond the Screen* Youth Exchange
After a full week of activities, shared learning, and intercultural connection, we concluded our project with a strong feeling of achievement and community. A total of **32 participants** from **Greece, France, Portugal, and Hungary** took part in this experience, contributing their ideas, perspectives, and energy throughout every session.

Across the project, participants engaged in morning energizers, creative workshops like the Art Clock, theoretical discussions on triggers and digital behaviors, expert talks, city explorations without phones, role-play activities, SWOT analyses, NGO fairs, and memorable cultural nights. Each of these activities supported reflection, awareness, and personal growth around technology use, addiction, and mindful digital habits.

The active participation and openness of everyone involved made this project a true collaborative success. From breakfast meetings to evening sessions, participants worked together, shared stories, explored new solutions, and built lasting friendships beyond borders.

Although our time together has come to an end, the knowledge gained and experiences shared throughout the week will continue to grow and shape future actions. We hope that each participant carries forward the principles of mindful technology use and continues raising awareness in their communities.

Thank you to all participants, partner organizations, facilitators, and supporters for making this journey meaningful and inspiring.

🌍 A productive and insightful day at the “Beyond the Screen” Youth Exchange
We started with breakfast and morning energizers, followed by the Art Clock workshop, where participants visually mapped their daily routines. This activity encouraged them to reflect on how their time is spent and how digital habits shape their productivity, relationships, and wellbeing.

After lunch, we held a comprehensive expert session, which became one of the most impactful activities of the day. The expert introduced participants to the psychological mechanisms behind technology addiction, including attention-capturing design features such as infinite scrolling, personalized algorithms, and reward-based notification systems.
Participants learned about emotional and cognitive triggers, early signs of overuse, and the effects of constant digital engagement on sleep, focus, and mental health. The session also explored practical techniques for reducing digital dependency: mindful screen limits, digital detox habits, healthier routines, and strategies for identifying cravings, triggers, and emotional responses.
The discussion was highly interactive, with participants asking questions, sharing experiences, and reflecting on how these insights apply to their own digital behaviors.

We ended the structured program with dinner, and later, participants had free time to unwind, explore, or connect in small groups.
A meaningful day that strengthened participants’ awareness of their habits and equipped them with tools for healthier digital living.

🌍 Another productive activity day at the “Beyond the Screen” Youth Exchange
The day started with breakfast and an energizing morning routine that helped participants begin with clarity and motivation. We then continued with “We Time,” an activity where participants paired up and spent meaningful time together, allowing them to strengthen personal connections and reflect on shared experiences.

The morning progressed with a group session focused on understanding the structure of addiction, particularly in the context of technology use. Participants engaged in discussions about triggers and their roles in addictive patterns, exploring elements such as craving, response, reward, temporary relief, and fatigue. This theoretical exercise offered valuable insights into the psychological aspects behind digital dependency.

Following lunch, participants worked in groups to prepare role-play performances on four relatable scenarios:
• A family dinner disrupted by phone addiction
• Gamers dealing with gaming addiction
• Friends on an outing dominated by social media use
• Students caught in constant phone checking

Each group presented their live theatre performance, showcasing strong creativity and a clear understanding of the behaviors linked to technology overuse.

The day concluded with dinner and a lively traditional games night organized by the Greek and French teams, offering a fun and interactive end to the day.

A meaningful combination of reflection, learning, creativity, and cultural exchange.

🌍 Another meaningful activity day in the “Beyond the Screen” Youth Exchange
The day began with breakfast, followed by energizers designed to help participants clear their minds and start the morning with renewed energy. Soon after, they engaged in a special interactive game about digital habits, exploring how much time they spend on technology and how it influences their routines.

In the afternoon, participants were divided into mixed groups and given a unique task: to explore the city around the accommodation and discuss the true meaning of the term “addiction.” To deepen the experience, everyone left their phones in their rooms, allowing space for more authentic interaction and observation.

Once the groups returned, they presented their findings, sharing reflections on the patterns, emotions, and behaviors they associated with addiction. A brief group discussion followed, offering valuable insights into how stepping away from technology, even for a short time, can highlight habits we often overlook.

Later, participants enjoyed the Hobby Hour, or “me time,” where they could focus on their own well-being. Some read books, others took a walk, and many simply enjoyed a peaceful moment to themselves.

We concluded the day with a reflection session evaluating the day’s activities, and a welcoming dinner that brought everyone together in a relaxed and warm atmosphere.
A day filled with awareness, personal discovery, and meaningful conversations.

🌍 The first activity day of the “Beyond the Screen” Youth Exchange

Our project officially started in Paralia, Greece, bringing together participants from Greece, Hungary, Portugal, and France to explore healthier digital habits and intercultural learning.

The day began with introduction activities, name games, and energizing icebreakers that helped create a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Participants then took part in an interactive session where they shared their expectations, contributions, and fears, establishing a foundation of openness and mutual support. Orientation activities provided time to get familiar with the venue, schedule, and local area.

In the afternoon, we focused on group dynamics through engaging games designed to strengthen collaboration, trust, and communication. A walk-and-talk session by the sea offered the perfect opportunity for deeper conversations and natural bonding.

We also enjoyed our first shared meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which helped reinforce the sense of community that will shape the week.

A meaningful start to what promises to be a valuable and enriching experience.

🌍 Beyond the Screen has officially begun!
Today we welcomed our participants to Paralia, Greece, as they arrived from different parts of Europe to start this youth exchange journey. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as everyone checked in, met their roommates, and began connecting with each other.

In the evening, we shared our first dinner together, giving participants a chance to unwind after traveling and start building connections in a relaxed setting.

We then held our welcome meeting, introducing the project’s objectives, weekly plan, and practical information. This session provided participants with an overview of what lies ahead and set the tone for an engaging and meaningful week.

A warm and smooth start to our shared experience of learning, connection, and mindful technology use.

Our team has returned from an unforgettable experience at FlameRebirth: Youth for Habitat Revival, where they actively contributed to climate action and habitat restoration efforts!😁✅

The project challenged them to think critically about forest fire prevention, participate in hands-on environmental restoration activities, and lead meaningful discussions on sustainability. The “Restoration Rumble Debate” allowed them to explore different perspectives on post-fire recovery methods, strengthening their critical thinking and argumentation skills. 🗣️🔥

They also learned about soil restoration techniques, engaging in composting, biochar production, and water retention methods to revitalize damaged land. 🌱🌳

The week ended with an environmental social media campaign, where they created impactful storytelling pieces to raise awareness. Now, they are ready to implement these practices at home and continue protecting nature for future generations! 🇬🇷💙
