It's blue hour now, the sky is painted blue and getting darker as time goes by.
The seagulls went to their nests, the city lights in the background are starting to pop up and the sea became calmer as the winds settled.

It's the perfect time to capture the "Mediterranean Sky" shipwreck in all its... rusty glory under the blue sky.

Our journey started on a very cold early morning, 5am to be precise, we loaded our equipment in the car and off we went towards the spot where you get a nice overview of the Vikos gorge.
During our trip, going uphill, the frozen and snow covered roads gave way to an opening from where we could finally see some early light reflected on the clouds and a magenta-ish tone coming out on the sky.
We decided to park, and give it 5-10 minutes of waiting & shooting time.
It wasn't long 'til the first light broke through the horizon and painted the sky in beautiful blue & magenta tones.

Epirus has so many locations, spots and shots to offer, there are countless great shot opportunities out there.

Wanderers of the DragonLake:

Climbers and... non-climbers are wandering around the DragonLake at the top of Mt. Timfi, going up the hill to enjoy the view of Konitsa and a bird's eye view of Albania ( this location is near the borders of Greece and Albania ).

This is a truly unique location, a big lake, way up high on the top of the mountain, with frozen snow lasting sometimes even until mid-June, all sorts of grass and vegetation, and wildflowers like the cool looking blue & purple Crocus.
The sun sets behind the mountaintop ( to the right, off this frame ), giving us the chance of capturing this magnificent place with the flaming sky reflected on the surface of the lake and casting some color onto the snow on the peaks!

The Roussanou monastery lit by bright light rays from the partly covered by the clouds sun, often called "God Rays".

The "Meteora" monastery complex/valley offers a wonderful dozen or so ( perhaps even more ) amazing shots for the passionate landscape photographer.
It is a unique location with unlimited options when it comes to photography, this place looks wonderful throughout the year, all four seasons, at sunset, sunrise, dusk, dawn, blue hour, golden hours, night.

Oia, Santorini.

This is a shot from one of the few less busy spots of Oia village ( most of the season the island's full of tourists waiting for the sun to set, it's crazy how many people are standing there from very early in the afternoon until the sun finally sets! ).

The graphic streets of Papigo along the "Astraka" peak of Mt. Tymfi.

Whether you are looking for a photography trip or laid-back vacations ( or better yet, a mix of the two! ), Papigo and the greater Zagorohoria region of Epirus is a destination YOU MUST visit at least once in your lifetime!

Athens by Night:

While most of the city center of Athens is a pretty plain mess of streets, there are quite a few exceptions, like the "Anafiotika" region in the part of the city called "Plaka", the streets around the Parliament, the Sintagma & Omonia squares, the city looks wonderful at dusk/night when observed from a few nice spots with a bird's eye view angle of the whole city.

You can clearly see the Acropolis, the Parthenon, the Greek Parliament, the Grande Bretagne hotel with its roof garden bars, and last but not least, the mediterranean sea in the background.

The shipwreck of "Mediterranean Sky" left to rust forever abandoned near the shore of Elefsina in Attica, Greece.

The dark skies during a sudden thunder storms afternoon and a B+W 10 stop ND filter allowed us to keep the camera's shutter open for a hefty 142 seconds, resulting in a blurry sky ( from the movement of the clouds ) and a perfectly calm, almost glass-like sea surface.
