The UK student visa route is primarily for international students who wish to study in the UK. Here’s a detailed overview:

For students aged 16 and over who have been accepted into a course at a UK educational institution.
Requires a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from a licensed UK institution.

To be eligible for a UK student visa, applicants must typically meet the following criteria:

Immigration History: Must have a valid passport and meet any additional immigration history requirements.
Financial Requirements
Tuition Fees: You need to demonstrate that you can pay your tuition fees for the first year of your course.
Living Costs: Generally, you need to show you have at least £1,334 per month (for up to 9 months) if studying in London, or £1,023 per month if studying outside London.
Documents Required:
Valid passport.
CAS number.
Proof of financial means.

It costs £490 to apply for a Student visa from outside the UK.
Healthcare Surcharge:
You’ll also have to pay the immigration healthcare Surcharge for each year of your stay - this is usually £776 per year.
Duration of the Visa
The student visa duration generally covers the length of the course plus additional time (usually 2 months) to prepare for departure after completing studies.
Students may also be eligible for a Graduate Route visa, allowing them to stay in the UK for 2 years after graduation (3 years for PhD graduates).
Working While Studying:
Student visa holders can work up to 20 hours per week during term time and full-time during holidays. Conditions may vary based on the course and level of study.
Switching to a Different Visa:
Students may switch to other visa categories (e.g., work visas) after completing their studies, provided they meet the criteria.
