Once a real city on the Silk Road, today you walk through caves, tunnels, old halls… simple, raw, real.

Then Gori.

Birthplace of Stalin.
A controversial figure — harsh, ruthless, responsible for a lot. History doesn’t ignore that.

Sighnaghi is known as the city of love

It’s quiet, simple, and a bit slower than everything around it.
Narrow streets, light-colored houses, and open views over the Alazani Valley that don’t need much explanation.

Sighnaghi is also surrounded by a massive defensive wall.
Built in the 18th century by King Erekle II, it stretches for about 4 kilometers and once protected the region from invasions. Today, it’s one of those details that quietly reminds you how much history is layered into this small town.

Not far from there, Bodbe Monastery feels even more calm.
Dating back to the 9th century, it is one of the most important religious places in Georgia. It is also where Saint Nino is buried — the woman who brought Christianity to Georgia in the 4th century.

This is also one of the best seasons to plan this trip — calm, green, and not overcrowded.
