Tbilisi Dry Port hosted a delegation from COSCO Shipping Lines, one of the world’s largest maritime transportation companies.

During the visit, the delegation, led by Regional Manager Chen Huafeng, was presented with a detailed overview of Tbilisi Dry Port’s strategic development vision, current activities and operational processes, as well as its future infrastructure development plans.

Particular attention was given to the construction of Phase II of the project, which will significantly increase the port’s handling capacity, expand its service capabilities, and further strengthen its role as a regional logistics hub.

The delegation toured the port facilities and familiarized themselves with the existing infrastructure, cargo-handling operations, and range of services available.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed the development prospects of the Middle Corridor, ongoing logistics developments across the region, and Georgia’s transit potential. As a result of the discussions, the parties identified further joint steps aimed at deepening cooperation.

Such visits highlight the growing importance of Tbilisi Dry Port within regional and international logistics networks, as well as its role in strengthening the transport and logistics potential of Georgia, the Caucasus, and the Middle Corridor.

ვიზიტის ფარგლებში სტუმრები დეტალურად გაეცნენ „თბილისი დრაი პორტის“ საქმიანობას, მიმდინარე ოპერაციებსა და განვითარების სტრატეგიულ მიმართულებებს. დაათვალიერეს პორტის ტერიტორია და არსებული ინფრასტრუქტურა, რაც საშუალებას აძლევს პორტს ეფექტიანად მოემსახუროს რეგიონულ და საერთაშორისო სატვირთო ნაკადებს, როგორც მნიშვნელოვანი ლოგისტიკური ჰაბი.

On September 15, Tbilisi Dry Port welcomed a delegation from CMA-CGM, one of the world's leading maritime transportation and logistics companies.

During the visit, the delegation was introduced to the operations of Tbilisi Dry Port, its strategic development objectives, and its role in strengthening regional and international logistics connectivity. The guests toured the port facilities and gained first-hand insight into the existing infrastructure that supports efficient cargo handling and multimodal transportation solutions as important logistics hub.

A key focus of the visit was the presentation of the project's Phase II development. The delegation was briefed on the planned infrastructure expansion, upcoming capabilities, and future growth opportunities that will further enhance the port's capacity and operational efficiency. Once completed, the expansion will reinforce Tbilisi Dry Port's position as a key logistics hub along the Middle Corridor and contribute to the development of sustainable and integrated supply chains across the region.

Such visits provide an important opportunity to further strengthen existing cooperation, as well as to discuss new joint plans and initiatives, which are becoming increasingly important and a shared priority for both parties amid growing cargo flows through Georgia.

„თბილისი დრაი პორტის“ წარმომადგენლებმა მონაწილეობა მიიღეს 7–8 სექტემბერს გამართულ ბათუმის საერთაშორისო საზღვაო ფორუმში. ღონისძიება საქართველოს პრემიერ-მინისტრის პატრონაჟით, საქართველოს ეკონომიკისა და მდგრადი განვითარების სამინისტროს მხარდაჭერითა და საზღვაო ტრანსპორტის სააგენტოს ორგანიზებით ჩატარდა.

ფორუმს 40-მდე ქვეყნიდან 400-ზე მეტი დელეგატი ესწრებოდა. ღონისძიებაში მონაწილეობდა AD Ports Group-ის რეგიონული აღმასრულებელი დირექტორიც, რომელმაც პირისპირ შეხვედრები გამართა როგორც საქართველოს აღმასრულებელი ხელისუფლების წარმომადგენლებთან, ისე ლოგისტიკისა და სატრანსპორტო სექტორში მოქმედ კერძო კომპანიებთან. შეხვედრების ფარგლებში მხარეებმა განიხილეს „თბილისი დრაი პორტის“ პროექტის მიმდინარე ეტაპი, განვითარების პერსპექტივები და სამომავლო გეგმები.

საზღვაო ფორუმის ფარგლებში ასევე გაიმართა სემინარი თემაზე — „ეროვნული შესაძლებლობების გაძლიერება საქართველოში მშრალი პორტებისა და მულტიმოდალური ტრანსპორტის მიმართულებით“. სემინარის მონაწილეებს წარედგინათ „თბილისი დრაი პორტის“ პროექტი, მისი შესაძლებლობები და როლი საქართველოს სატრანსპორტო და ლოგისტიკური სექტორის განვითარებაში. შეხვედრაზე ასევე განხილული იყო მშრალი პორტების ძირითადი ფუნქციები და უპირატესობები, მათი მნიშვნელობა მულტიმოდალური გადაზიდვების განვითარებისთვის და საერთაშორისო ლოგისტიკურ ჯაჭვებში ეფექტიანი ინტეგრაციის შესაძლებლობები.
სემინარი “გაეროს აზიისა და წყნარი ოკეანის ეკონომიკური და სოციალური კომისიის (ESCAP)” და საქართველოს ეკონომიკისა და მდგრადი განვითარების სამინისტროს მხარდაჭერით ჩატარდა.

Tbilisi Dry Port representatives participated in the Batumi International Maritime Forum held on 7-8 September. The event was organized under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Georgia, with the support of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and the Maritime Transport Agency.

The forum brought together more than 400 delegates from nearly 40 countries, serving as a key platform for discussing regional connectivity, logistics, and transport development. The event was also attended by the Regional CEO of AD Ports Group, who held bilateral meetings with representatives of the Government of Georgia as well as leading private sector companies operating in the logistics and transportation industries. During these discussions, participants reviewed the current stage of the Tbilisi Dry Port project, its future development prospects, and strategic plans for the years ahead.

As part of the forum, a dedicated seminar titled “Strengthening National Capacity in Georgia on Dry Ports and Multimodal Transport” was held. Participants were introduced to the Tbilisi Dry Port project, its capabilities, and its growing role in advancing Georgia’s transport and logistics sector.

The seminar also explored the key functions and advantages of dry ports, their contribution to the development of multimodal transport solutions, and their importance in facilitating efficient integration into international logistics and supply chains. The event was organized with the support of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.

As Georgia continues to strengthen its position as a regional logistics hub along the Middle Corridor, projects such as Tbilisi Dry Port are playing a vital role in enhancing connectivity, trade facilitation, and sustainable economic growth.

Today, Tbilisi Dry Port welcomed an official delegation from the Customs Service of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan and the Customs Department of the Revenue Service under the Ministry of Finance of Georgia.

During the visit, the guests were introduced to Tbilisi Dry Port’s existing infrastructure, terminal operational capabilities, and ongoing Phase II construction works, as well as the company’s long-term development strategy and expansion plans.

Particular attention was given to the successful partnership between Georgia and Kyrgyzstan, the importance of strengthening regional cooperation, and the growing role of the Middle Corridor within the international transport and logistics network. The meeting also highlighted Tbilisi Dry Port’s close cooperation with the Revenue Service and the integrated services available to customers through the one-stop-shop principle.

The parties further discussed emerging opportunities created by the region’s increasing transit potential. Experiences and best practices were shared regarding the progress Georgia has achieved through the simplification and digitalization of customs procedures, which continue to enhance efficiency and facilitate trade flows.

The meeting once again underscored the strategic importance of Tbilisi Dry Port as a modern intermodal logistics hub that actively contributes to the development of regional transport corridors, the expansion of international trade, and the strengthening of economic ties between countries.
