It takes two on these roads here in Georgia ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ช.

A skilled driver and good 4wd are required on the road to Juka on the Shelf Road.

Ancient glacers, sheer drop offs and landslides were the recipe for the day.

Although our rental got us many places we are looking forward to returning in our Landcruiser!

Borjomi, Georgia is known for its mineral waters and pilgrims have been visiting this place for medicinal reasons for hundreds of years.
There is some truth in this as the water contains;
-Hydrocarbon- 3899mg/L
-Natron- 420mg/L
-Calcium- 88mg/L
-Magnesium- 48mg/L
It's also naturally effervescent.

To this day the spring produces 1400L per day!

Today we decided to take a side road and traveled up a steep narrow trail to a quiet monastery in the Tibilisi National Park.

It was an easy trail that ended with breathtaking views.

10/10 would recommend.

Our next adventure is always just around the corner!

Today's included a 7km hike to a beautiful gorge along the border of Azerbaijan and Georgia.

We were on the border requiring us to carry our passports due to border patrol along the path.
The only "sign" of immigration was this sign.

Peace and good vibes to everyone ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿฝ

Yesterday we visited the Tsitsernakaberd Genocide Memorial and learned about the genocide of Armenians that took place in the early 1900s.
It was hard and raw, but we need to see these things in order to not repeat history.

Sadly though history would be repeated as many German officers and officials who served in WWI with the Turks would take these techniques and apply them to another ethnic group, the Jews just a decade or so later.

Today is the Armenian Genocide Victims Commeration Day. It is a national holiday to mourn and remember the 1.5-2 million Armenians that were systematically murdered by the Turkish Ottoman Empire.

Last night we were able to participate in the march. Humbling. Sad. And wow, what resilience! These people are strong and their country is so beautiful.
Honored to be able to be here.

We were visiting the Ardvi Monastery a few days ago and I snapped this picture of a man leading his horse over the hill with the stunning mountains in the foreground.
It's moments like this that make all the hard work, planning, budgeting, and organizing worth it!
These are the Greater Caucasus Mountains. Stunningly beautiful ๐Ÿ”๏ธ

The political graffiti is off the chart in Georgia ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ช. There is a lot going on here, but it tells a story of a country stuck in between and needing the support of the EU and USA.

Yesterday's travel from Georgia ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ช to Armenia ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฒ went smooth and easy.

Just like border crossings in Central America, it took a few hours. Mostly standing in line to check out of Georgia, check in to Armenia, get letter of approval to drive in Armenia, and then finally get insurance before we were on our way.

Peace and good vibes to everyone ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿผ
