⚠️⚠️ Important Travel Update ⚠️⚠️

Starting October 12, 2025, travelers from outside the EU, including UK citizens, will be required to register their biometric details (fingerprints and facial image) under the EU’s new Entry/Exit System (EES) when crossing into the Schengen Area. This digital system replaces the traditional passport stamping process and will electronically monitor short-term stays across 29 European countries. The rollout will take place in stages, with some border points adopting it right away and full implementation expected by April 2026.

What to Expect

Biometric Registration: Travelers will need to provide a photo and fingerprint scans at border checks.

Digital Record: Your entry/exit dates and biometric information will be stored in a central EU database.

Schengen Area Coverage: The EES applies across 29 countries in the Schengen zone, including EU members, plus Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland.

90-day Rule Enforcement: The system ensures that non-EU nationals do not exceed 90 days within any rolling 180-day period.

How to Prepare

Anticipate Delays: Border checks may take longer while the system is being introduced.

Bring Required Documents: Your passport will still be needed, and certain destinations (e.g., France) may also require proof of medical insurance.

Stay Updated: Check GOV.UK and FCDO’s Travel Aware site for the latest guidance before traveling.

With the C word around the corner let's talk Lapland.....

I'd imagine by now if you were going you would probably have this booked because availability is limited BUT that doesn't mean you can't still book.

Many people are unsure if this is for them for many reasons.... Cost, young children, temperature, distance and lots of things. Here are my top tips and info for you to decide if it may be for you......

✨ If your child/children can put on hats/gloves and actually keep them on then it's a sign they may just be old enough. This is so important because of how cold it is!!
✨ If you want a more interactive Santa experience on a bigger level like Reindeer sleigh rides, husky rides, snowmobiling or even skiing then this is a good choice.
✨ Make sure your packing woolly clothing and are expecting cold weather!
✨If you're looking to reduce cost, consider booking a self catering accommodation. Consider not booking all the paid activities like meeting Santa's elves or reindeer sleigh rides and consider free activities like building snowmen or walking and exploring.
✨ He prepared that if your expecting to see the northern lights this may not necessarily happen during your stay.
✨ Book a package that includes your thermal clothing and possibly boots so you don't have to hire/buy them.

So as if tomorrow, 14 months of maternity is coming to an end and I will be returning to work. 😥

My working hours will still be flexible and you are still going to get that personal experience from me. There will just be some slight changes......
