Quick update on our pricing/VAT

Following on from our recent post about our labour and diagnostic rates, we've had some clarification from our accountant regarding VAT.

We had originally expected that we wouldn't need to start charging VAT until a little further down the line.

However, we've now been advised that VAT will apply from the start of the business. This means we unfortunately need to add 20% to our advertised rates going forward.

Our rates will therefore be:
Standard labour – £45 + VAT (£54 total)

Diagnostic introductory offer: First hour – £45 + VAT (£54 total) Second hour, if required – £30 + VAT (£36 total) Any further labour – £45 + VAT (£54 total)

Until we get our VAT registration number we'll issue pro-forma invoices, and can supply VAT invoices later to anyone that requires.

Apologies for the change so soon after posting our rates. We're still getting all the administrative side of the new business finalised, and wanted to update everyone as soon as we received this, though anyone still booked in as a good will gesture will only be charged what was advertised.

Thank you everyone for the likes, shares and follows so far, it is massively appreciated!

Had a couple booking already which we are very excited about!

We will try and do a few post showing what's happening, do little "case studies" and tips and tricks, and simple checks for those that aren't maybe so into their cars or boats.

As a thank you for the support, we're also introducing a diagnostic offer for the first few months.

Our standard labour rate is £45/hour.

For diagnostic work:
First hour – £45
Second hour (if required) – £30
Any labour after that – £45

(Currently this is with no VAT, but will have to start charging VAT in the near future)

We won't just keep working and surprise you with a bill. After the first hour we'll contact you with what we've found, explain the likely next steps, discuss any parts that may be needed, and let you decide how you'd like to proceed.

In future as we expand and upgrade to newer more modern diagnosis equipment these rates will increase, but when they do we will be sure to post and keep everyone updated about it.

Also hoping to get the workshop cleared and organised a bit better and get some pictures up soon, so keep an eye out for that.
