A Weekend in the Forest of Dean
Looking for the perfect campervan escape?
Here’s a weekend itinerary I did a few weeks ago with some friends!
Day 1
Start your adventure with a wander through the magical Puzzlewood – an ancient, moss-covered forest that feels straight out of a fairytale.
After your stroll, it’s just a short 10–15 minute drive to Bracelands Campsite, where you can pitch up and settle in for the night.
Day 2
Head to Symonds Yat for a day of exploring. There are plenty of walking routes to choose from, all with incredible views along the way.
We stopped for a cider by the river, hopped on the little ferry, and completed a scenic loop before grabbing some lunch and heading back up.
Then it’s back to Bracelands for another cosy evening under the stars.
Day 3
Finish the trip with a visit to the Sculpture Trail – a beautiful forest walk filled with unique art installations. There’s also a great adventure play area for kids and (very importantly) amazing sausage rolls!
You could return to Bracelands for one last night… or why not try a different campsite on the way home? There are so many hidden gems in the area.
