On this day, 13 October 1453, Prince Edward of Westminster was born.

The only son of King Henry VI and Queen Margaret of Anjou, poor Edward was born right into the middle of the Wars of the Roses (talk about bad timing).

His dad struggled with bouts of mental illness, his mum was one of the fiercest queens in English history and Edward himself met a rather dramatic end at just 17 during the Battle of Tewkesbury. The Plantagenets really didn’t do calm family life.
