Because it sounds odd right?

If you’re on a weight loss journey you’ll be familiar with a calorie deficit and what that means.
The reason you’ll see these posts or your coach may have said to you to eat more is because creating a deficit is usually a mixture of reducing calories alongside a training programme -
For most, creating a deficit should be GRADUAL and not an extreme cut in calories, if you’ve dropped them significantly straight away you’re going to experience a very sudden change to your energy levels.
When this happens, getting your workouts done with the same intensity that you have been doing can feel impossible, you’re more likely to skip or reduce training and much higher risk of ‘binging’ which then means the ‘deficit’ created no longer applies because your energy expenditure won’t be the same.

My personal stance on how to achieve this goal: aim for a smaller calorie decrease (150-200 calories per day) to help keep your training the same and manage energy levels.
Yes it will take longer to achieve but I’d say that’s much better than not getting there at all.

“You make it look easy” a very kind comment I get from my clients when demonstrating certain exercises but I promise it’s definitely not always that way, as you can tell yesterday was not the day for me doing handstands or pirouettes (I got one hold eventually) 😅

The bad days/weeks do happen, my job is to help you get through them 🙌🏼

A few weeks out of the year isn’t going to undo all the hard work you put in over the other 49…

These moments don’t always come around so make the most of them when they do. It doesn’t mean you need or should eat 10 burgers or ice creams in one go but having a few treats or a couple days in a surplus won’t affect your long term progress.

I personally love a combination of both high + low intensity cardio.
iIf the thought of going and doing a 30 minute intense circuit is out the question for you but you can do a walk for an hour then this is still a great option!
