Southampton Trade Unionist & Socialist Coalition Are you fed up of broken promises from all the Westminster parties? Would you like Southampton councillors who will protect jobs and services? Join us!

Southampton Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition is campaigning to oppose all cuts to jobs, public services, pay, pensions and benefits. We oppose the privatisation of the NHS and other public services. We are standing candidates in local and national elections to elect councillors and MPs who will refuse to vote for cuts and will campaign for resources to meet the needs of Southampton. We need

jobs, a living wage, affordable housing, decent public services and transport. If you agree, join us!

New public opinion research by More in Common shows huge potential for a new anti-austerity, anti-war party, but the worrying statistic is Reform's unaffected support. We need to involve more trade unionists in shaping a new party to reach working-class communities. Sign the petition at https://change.org/TradeUnions-LaunchANewParty

“As the anniversary of the 2024 general election approaches, support is growing for the call made by trade unionists for steps to be taken now in the unions to establish a new political voice for working class people.”

The most recent prominent supporter of the petition calling for trade union action for a new party is Len McCluskey. The retired general secretary of Unite the Union signed at a meeting addressed by Jeremy Corbyn in Liverpool on June 14.

In total 37 current and former trade union national executive members are now backing the campaign – listed below – alongside over 1,300 who have supported it online and many more on paper.”

It’s time for the trade union movement to seriously discuss founding a new anti-austerity, anti-war party. Our movement will be weakened if workers see us as a voice for pro-austerity Labour. This meeting will discuss how to raise urgent discussions within and across unions to organise a conferenc...

Build the socialist opposition to Labour austerity. For a United campaign to deliver jobs, homes and fully funded services for all not racism ✊

Trade Unionists call anti racism rally in to oppose divisive threat of far right.

Working class communities face the threat of cuts by Tory and Labour governments. Falling wages due to profit hungry bosses. Rising rents feeding big landlords. We call for workers unity against cuts and discrimination.

Fight for jobs, homes and fully funded public services for all.

now has its first candidates in almost half (10 out of 23) of the councils facing elections this May. We need more anti-austerity candidates ready to join the fight for increased funding for services, not for war.
Under Britain’s election laws, candidates are only allowed to use a description other than the word ‘Independent’ – and a distinguishing emblem next to it rather than a blank space – if that description has been registered with the Electoral Commission by a recognised party. TUSC is registered with the Commission and has eight descriptions available to use, including for the first time the words, Independent Trade Union and Socialist Candidate.

We gave a clear message to Labour councillors cutting jobs and services, while increasing council tax, rents, charges and privatising St Marys Leisure Centre.

We welcome the £2.5 million investment but that would not have happened without our campaign. Delivering services for our communities will not work without funding. They want us to apply to the lottery!

The fight continues. We need fighting socialist councillors to lead a mass campaign for £500 million government funding cut from Southampton since 2010. ✊
