One of those bookings where I’m slightly jealous of the clients…

This family of four are heading to Thailand in March 2027, flying with Thai Airways and spending 10 nights at The Sarojin in Khao Lak before finishing with two nights at the Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok.

I love the way this trip has come together. Ten nights at The Sarojin gives them plenty of time to properly relax and enjoy the resort, and then they’ve got a couple of nights in Bangkok to see a completely different side of Thailand before flying home.

I’ve also included a private morning tour to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, with a boat trip through the canals, a visit to a coconut farm and the Railway Market — where the train actually runs straight through the middle of the market. It’s a really good way of adding an experience into the Bangkok stay without filling every minute of the trip.

This is the bit of my job I really enjoy. Looking at the holiday as a whole rather than just finding flights and a hotel, and working out how to make the different parts fit together for the people travelling.

Thailand is one of those destinations where there’s so much you can do, but you definitely don’t need to try and do everything. For this family, I think the combination of proper downtime in Khao Lak followed by a taste of Bangkok is going to work really well.

A little travel update from behind the scenes…

One thing I’ve really noticed over the last few months is that people are becoming much more flexible about when they travel.

September and October are proving incredibly popular, particularly for higher-end holidays. And I completely understand why — you can often get better availability, more comfortable temperatures and, depending on the destination, a much nicer experience than travelling in the height of summer.

I’m also seeing a lot more interest in holidays built around an experience rather than simply choosing a destination.

Northern Lights trips, safari, wellness, food and w**e, private villas, multi-centre itineraries and cruise are all getting plenty of attention.

And cruise in particular is having a very strong year. I’m already seeing people looking at 2027 sailings, with some of the more popular ships, cabins and dates starting to disappear surprisingly early.

The other thing that’s interesting?

People are still spending on holidays.

They might be more considered about where they spend their money, but when they do book, they’re looking for something that feels worth it — a great hotel, a better room, a fantastic itinerary or an experience they couldn’t easily arrange themselves.

Which, from my side of things, is actually really nice to see.

I’ve always believed that a holiday should be about more than finding the cheapest price. It’s about getting the right trip for you — and making sure all the little details are taken care of along the way.

So if you’re thinking about 2027, don’t assume you’re too early.

Some of the best options are already booking up, particularly for family holidays, suites, villas and specific cruise itineraries.

🚨 TRAVEL NEWS YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED…

There’s been a BIG development in the Caribbean — and if you love either cruising or all-inclusive holidays, this one is worth knowing about.

🏝️ Royal Caribbean + Sandals

Royal Caribbean Group has agreed to acquire a 50% stake in Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts for around $3 billion.

Yes… Royal Caribbean and Sandals.

The partnership brings together one of the biggest names in cruising with one of the Caribbean’s best-known all-inclusive resort groups.

The deal is expected to complete in early 2027, and for now, existing bookings, loyalty programmes and resort operations continue as normal.

But longer term? This could be very interesting.

Royal Caribbean is increasingly building a holiday offering that stretches beyond the ship — cruises, private destinations and now luxury all-inclusive resorts. And Sandals has been talking about expanding beyond its traditional Caribbean base.

And that’s not the only big cruise news…

Royal Caribbean is also preparing to enter river cruising in 2027 with Celebrity River Cruises, bringing the Celebrity brand into European river cruising.

So if you thought cruising was just about big ships and Caribbean itineraries… think again.

🌍 The travel industry is changing FAST.
