School runs, early mornings, challenging routes, and plenty of patience — they handle it all with professionalism and care.
Some have been behind the wheel for over 10, 20, even 30 years… and it shows.

We’ve only ever had one driver leave — and that was to start his own company.
Everyone else who’s joined has stayed with us.

Salop Cars is expanding! Due to a surge in demand for school transport and preparing for the next academic year, we're looking for dedicated Shropshire Council licensed drivers with their own vehicles to join us.

We have cover opportunities available for the final term of this school year, with the potential for regular, full-time positions starting next school year (September 2025).

Why Drive With Us?

Keep 100% of Your Fare: Absolutely no commission taken. The agreed price is exactly what you receive.

Guaranteed Pay for Late Cancellations: If a job (both morning and afternoon runs) is cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, you still get paid in full.

Competitive Mileage Rates: Discussed upon application.

Predictable Shifts: Primarily morning and afternoon school runs during term time – ideal for fitting around other commitments or if you prefer your daytime free.

Freedom to Work Elsewhere: As a self-employed driver, you are completely free to work for other companies outside of our agreed school run times.

Choose Your Commitment: Part-time and full-time opportunities available.

Your own suitable vehicle, licensed by Shropshire Council, kept clean and well-maintained

Next week is half term — but the wheels don’t stop for everyone.

While some of our drivers enjoy a well-earned break, others will continue supporting the community — transporting children and adults with learning disabilities to respite care or specialist centres that stay open during the holidays.

These centres give families the breathing space they deserve — and we’re proud to do our bit in helping make that possible.
