✈️ FLIGHT DISRUPTIONS HAPPEN. YOUR TRANSFER STILL MATTERS.

Tonight, passengers due to travel home from Madeira on flight LS1226 to Birmingham Airport were informed that, due to an unexpected technical issue, their flight would not depart until tomorrow.

Travel plans don’t always go to plan, even when everything has been booked in advance.

At Castle Cars, we understand how frustrating these situations can be, especially when you’re away from home & trying to work out what happens next. You might have work to get back to, pets waiting to be collected or family commitments that can’t simply be put on hold.

So where do we stand when your flight is disrupted?

✔️ We monitor flight arrivals & keep track of changes.

✔️ We keep communication open & work with updated arrival information.

✔️ If your flight is cancelled or rescheduled, we’ll work with you to rearrange your transfer, keeping you informed & helping take some of the stress out of an already frustrating situation.

We can’t control airline decisions, technical issues or flight cancellations. What we can do is offer a personal service, clear communication & a genuine effort to help when plans change.

We’re a family-run business, & we understand the reassurance that comes from knowing someone is waiting for you when you land, even when your travel plans don’t go as expected.

Castle Cars. Who are we?

We’re a small, independent, family-run business.

We started with one driver & two vehicles.

Now we are surrounded by a team of professional, reliable & knowledgeable drivers — and we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built.

Over the years, we’ve had several investment opportunities put in front of us. Opportunities that could have meant growing much quicker, taking on more vehicles, more drivers & more journeys.

But that isn’t why we started Castle Cars.

We always wanted to be small enough to keep the personal touch.

Small enough to manage the day-to-day running ourselves.

To know our customers.
To know the journeys.
To be there when someone has a question.
To actually care about the service we provide.

We could have grown much quicker, but that would have meant handing more of the business over to other people — and that’s not what we wanted for Castle Cars.

There are still so many people who haven’t heard of Castle Cars.

But year on year, we’re growing.

And that’s exactly what we want — to grow organically, on our terms, & at a pace that feels right for us.

We don’t want to become a huge company where customers just become booking numbers.

We want to grow, but still know the people we’re looking after, still know the journeys we’re sending our drivers on, & still care about every booking that we take.

Because they operate on a much larger scale.

More drivers, more journeys — & often a very different way of allocating & pricing those journeys.

At Castle Cars, every airport journey is pre-booked, pre-allocated & planned around you.

Our fares are fixed — day or night, busy or quiet. No dynamic pricing.

🏥 Hospital parking charges are changing from November

If you're visiting the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, Princess Royal Hospital or William Farr House, there are some changes to be aware of.

From Monday 2 November 2026, the new parking charges will be:

🅿️ Up to 20 minutes – FREE
🅿️ Up to 2 hours – £4.50
🅿️ Up to 3 hours – £6.00
🅿️ Up to 4 hours – £7.15
🅿️ Up to 5 hours – £8.25
🅿️ Up to 24 hours – £10.45

The frequent visit concession is also increasing from £8.50 to £15 from 1 December 2026. This covers 10 visits over three months.

Some free parking concessions will remain in place, including Blue Badge holders, patients receiving renal dialysis or cancer treatment, people visiting in connection with bereavement, & parents of children staying overnight in hospital.

The Park & Ride service at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital will also continue, with the return fare staying at £2.

Ever wondered why a minibus turns up for just one or two passengers?

There’s usually a bit more planning behind it than you might think.

Recently, one of our 8-passenger minibuses took two regular customers to Birmingham Airport, heading off on a city break.

After dropping them off, the same vehicle had a short wait nearby before heading back to collect six passengers returning from Montego Bay.

One vehicle. Two bookings. Better planning.

We regularly plan journeys this way, making better use of our vehicles & drivers, rather than sending two vehicles out when one can do both jobs.

So, what might look like an oversized vehicle for one or two passengers is often simply part of a carefully planned day.
