On Friday 18 November, DVSA investigators were out with the Metropolitan and Sussex police forces targeting areas with a high proportion of learner motorcyclists.

Many of the motorcycles stopped were riders working for delivery companies.🏍️

In a very successful day, the police found various offences such as no insurance on vehicles and irregularities with driving licence. 2 mopeds were taken away.

DVSA’s Investigations & Counter Fraud Team and Compulsory Basic Training Team (CBT) carried out a number of checks on learner drivers CBT certificates, driver licences and MOT certificates to ensure they were compliant and legitimate. ✔️

We found that some learner motorcyclists were not complying with the regulations and were dealt with appropriately in connection with the police checks and offences discovered. ❌

DVSA is now carrying out an investigation into a motorcycle training provider where a forged CBT is concerned.

If you’re carrying out any kind of delivery on a moped or motorcycle, make sure you’ve taken the training you need to. You’ll be riding illegally if you haven’t.
