Back in the day, it was said you could walk the city and hear a church bell almost every few steps.

Did you know that Norwich was the first place in the UK to introduce pedestrianised shopping streets? 🛍️🚶
Back in 1967, part of Gentleman’s Walk became traffic-free, paving the way (literally!) for the modern shopping experience we now take for granted.

Turns out Norwich was setting retail trends long before online shopping!

On 6 June 1944, the UK played a starring role in D-Day, the largest seaborne invasion in history. British, American, and Canadian forces stormed the beaches of Normandy to begin the liberation of Nazi-occupied Europe. 🇬🇧⚓️

British troops landed on Gold and Sword beaches, and the Royal Navy provided nearly 900 ships—basically, a floating traffic jam for freedom!

A huge moment in history... and proof the British really do know how to queue.
