Yesterday, some of our Anchors went on the Battalion Trip to Twycross Zoo. We joined up with our friends from the 22nd Northampton Boys' Brigade and had a great day with all of them. We managed to see a number of different animals including the Giraffes, Gorillas, Penguins, Tigers, Meerkats, Zebras, Rhinos and we mustn’t forget the Gruffalo🦍🐧🦏🦒🦓

We would like to say a big thank you to those from Northamptonshire Boys' Brigade who orgainised the trip and gave the boys the opportunity to go.🙂

Thank you to Sue from our friends at 22nd Northampton Boys' Brigade for coming to run a Go Wild session with our Anchors last night. The boys had a great time with you and particularly enjoyed the Wild Head and Magic Potions activities! A great example of BB companies supporting each other, particularly during Volunteers Week! Yesterday, we took our Juniors to Drayton Manor, as part of the Northamptonshire Boys' Brigade Battalion trip 🎢

There was plenty of thrills and excitement throughout the day as we explored the park with our friends from the 22nd Northampton Boys' Brigade. A few of the lads even attempting a try not to scream challenge. Which they all say they completed but there were definitely a few screams when riding the The Wave and The Maelstrom 🤔😉

Massive THANK YOU to those who organised the trip! They all had a great day and we're already asking when we were going again on the way home 😅 ⚓

What an egg-cellent evening we had last night. We had an Easter themed session where we decorated Easter Pottery and we bounced table tennis balls to try our cluck at Egg Lottery! Half had chocolate treats and half contained a cross ❌, which we didn’t find very bunny! Delivering the BBC's Richard Dimbleby Lecture earlier this week, Sir Gareth Southgate reflected on the importance of positive role models in boys' lives, and warned of the dangers posed by 'toxic influencers'.

Our Youth Culture and Trends research, published in 2023 to explore the lives and culture of young people today and how we can better support them, highlighted similar issues, along with the increasing dissatisfaction that young people feel with their friendships and a greater likelihood of conducting social relationships online.

It also showed that organisations such as the BB have a vital role in providing positive role models and influences in young people's lives, helping them to feel valued, included and cared for, as well as providing a structured environment where they can learn a range of important skills.
