Another busy day for us at Wight Coaches!

Two of our touring coaches alongside one of our minibuses, pictured today collecting pupils from a local school!

These were just a few of our vehicles out on the road today, with several more of our coaches and minibuses collecting pupils from other Island schools, all heading to a local careers day!

With a fleet ranging from 16 to 70 seats, no group is too big or too small! 🚍

Whether it's a local school trip, a day out, or a longer journey across the UK or into Europe, Wight Coaches can provide transport to suit your group's needs.

💍 Wedding transport on the Isle of Wight 🚌✨

A photo from the weekend just gone of one of our minibuses alongside one of our coaches, after we had the privilege of transporting wedding guests to and from the stunning Nunwell House in Brading.

We absolutely love being part of such special occasions, and with a busy few weeks ahead we’re providing wedding transport to some of the Island’s beautiful venues, including Barton Manor, Kingston Manor, East Afton Farm and Lakeside in Wootton.

With vehicles ranging from 16-seat minibuses right through to 70-seat coaches, we can cater for wedding parties and guest groups of almost any size.

If you’re planning your wedding and need reliable guest transport anywhere on the Isle of Wight, get in touch with our team — we’d love to help make the day run smoothly. 💒

Yesterday, Josh, one of our Directors, attended the IW Chamber Business Awards 2026 and what a night it turned out to be for Wight Coaches! 🏆🏆

We were incredibly proud to come away as winners of both:
🏆 Small Business of the Year - sponsored by Wightlink Isle of Wight Ferries
🏆 Entrepreneurship Award - sponsored by Red Funnel Isle of Wight Ferry

To win one award would have been amazing, but to win both categories we were shortlisted for is something we’re extremely proud of.

It continues an incredible few years for Wight Coaches:
🏆 2024 - Start-Up Business of the Year
🏆 2025 - Growth Business of the Year
🏆 2026 - Entrepreneurship Award
🏆 2026 - Small Business of the Year

A huge thank you to our drivers, staff, customers, schools, tour operators, suppliers and partners who continue to support us and put their trust in Wight Coaches.

We’d also like to say well done to all of the other nominees and winners - there were some fantastic Island businesses represented on the night and it was a privilege to be shortlisted alongside them.

A special thank you to Wightlink and Red Funnel for sponsoring our award categories, and to the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce and everyone involved in putting on another fantastic evening.

One of our coaches pictured today visiting the impressive new Wight Commercials facility for its six-weekly PMI safety inspection. 🔧🚌

Every vehicle in our fleet undergoes a stringent safety inspection every six weeks, helping to keep both our fleet and, most importantly, our passengers safe.

We’re proud to work with Wight Commercials and wish Chris, Steve and the whole team every success in their fantastic new purpose-built workshop!

A great view from Culver Down! 🚌☀️

One of our Scania coaches pictured at Culver Down, just outside Bembridge Fort, while carrying out an access check ahead of an upcoming event being held at this fantastic location.

We’re excited to be working with Eventure Collective providing the transport for what we are sure will be a fantastic evening with some of the best views on the Isle of Wight!

A fantastic photo taken by our driver Darren while stopped at the Eiffel Tower during his week in Paris with the Medina Community Choir.

The choir are currently enjoying a busy concert tour of the French capital, performing at some truly spectacular venues including Saint-Sulpice, Saint-Philippe-du-Roule and Saint-Séverin Church. 🎶

We’re delighted to be providing their transport throughout the tour and, as always, it’s a pleasure to have the group on board with Wight Coaches.

We hope everyone has a brilliant rest of the trip!

Following on from our previous post, we can confirm that Bernie has not been putting enough effort into his cleaning duties… so we’re looking for someone a little more reliable to join the team! 🐾

We are looking for a part-time cleaner to help keep our coaches and minibuses clean and ready for their next journey.

The role will include:

• Cleaning the inside of vehicles, including sweeping, hoovering, windows and general tidying
• Washing the outside of coaches and minibuses where required
• Making sure vehicles are ready for their next trip

The hours will be varied and will not follow a standard 9–5 pattern. Evening work will be required, particularly when vehicles return from day trips/tours and need to be cleaned ready for the following morning.

All cleaning equipment and products will be provided. The role is based at our secure compound just north of Newport.

We’re ideally looking for someone who:

✅ Is happy working independently
✅ Uses their own initiative
✅ Takes pride in doing a thorough job
✅ Can be flexible with working hours

Interested? Please send the Wight Coaches page a private message with a little information about yourself, your availability and any relevant experience.

It’s a busy time of year at Wight Coaches, so Bernie has been called in once again to lend a paw! 🐾🚌

Here he is pictured before helping us clean one of our minibuses between trips, followed by a well-earned rest with his paws up at the front of one of our coaches.

We’re not entirely sure how much cleaning Bernie actually got done, but luckily the rest of the team were there to pick up the slack! 🐶💙
